PTSA NEWS
THE FALL FUNDRAISER IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY!

Let’s  RAISE THE TORCH for IS as we begin a new school year!

Thank you to the over 50 families who have helped kick-start the campaign through generous donations made during Back to Business days! We’ve already raised nearly $7,000 toward our $30,000 goal! We’re just getting started.

We invite all families to participate in this campaign because your contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference! We ALL benefit from the community, academic excellence, and reputation our students were fortunate to join. This is our chance to give back and build on that legacy.  Choose a support level that works for you:  Gold $500,  Silver $250,  Bronze $100, or define your own amount. For those families who can, we ask you to consider becoming a  Titan Torch supporter with a donation of $1,000 or more.

All donations to the Fall Fundraiser that you give today are tax-deductible, and 100% goes back to the community through:
  • Curriculum Enrichment through teacher grants, classroom supplies, SAT Prep, scholarships, teacher training, etc.
  • Student Activities such as the 6th Grade & HS retreats, Graduation, etc.
  • Staff Appreciation & Community-Building Events
  • And much, much more

To see a more robust list, please check out  What Your Donation Supports .

REFLECTIONS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

The 50th anniversary of the National PTA arts program Reflections is being held this year with the theme Heroes Around Me The Reflections program provides an opportunity for students to express their creative talents through their own original works. Young artists get involved through their local PTA or PTSA. A student may submit an entry in any of six arts areas: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production/Special Artist.

IS has a great history of participation in the Reflections program, having sent the artwork of many students to the state competition.

Approximately three volunteers are needed to run the Refelections program from September through November. The main duties are to promote via a display board (already completed) the applications for the various art areas during student lunch in September and make sure the applications are full by checking once a week in October and November. Students will submit their art and applications at the end of November. Volunteers must then collect the art and submit it to the Bellevue PTSA Council in December. In April, volunteers return the art to students.

We thank Josephine Anderson, who has run this program successfully for many years at IS. We need some new volunteers to step up run the Reflections program at IS it so that our students may continue to participate.

If you are interested, please contact Meribeth:  [email protected]. We are looking for our volunteers to start the week of September 13.
