Advanced Learning
On March 5th , the Advanced Learning Advisory Committee will hold a  meeting   at the Vera Court Community Center. The first part of the meeting will give families a chance to connect with Advanced Learning staff to learn more about how Advanced Learning works in Madison and ask questions about students. The second part of the meeting will be a more formal discussion of the Advanced Learning Plan and policies so that families can offer feedback about how things are working for them. Child care and Spanish and Hmong interpretation will be provided.

Franklin Spirit Month is Coming!
Celebrate our Franklin School pride by participating in our weekly dress up days.

Friday, March 6 — Backwards Day: Students can wear their clothes backwards. They can simply turn around their shirt or sweatshirt. No backwards pants, please.☺ Teachers may do special backwards activities throughout the day.

Friday, March 13 — Wear a Word Day: Students can wear clothes with words or letters on them. Teachers can also help students participate by helping them make a necklace with a word card on it or by putting tape on their shirt with a word on it. Be creative – the more words the better.

Thursday, March 19 — Wear a Rainbow Day:  Students can wear a rainbow of colors and patterns. Wear your favorite color or wear all different colors. Mis-matching is encouraged! The more colors and patterns, the better.

Friday, March 27 — Secret Theme Day:  Classrooms will decide what theme they would like to have for the day. Other classrooms will try to guess the class theme. Your child’s teacher will communicate the secret theme to students and parents as the day approaches.

Randall Student Art on Display
All Randall students have been working hard on an embroidery project inspired by learning about Hmong culture and story cloths. Students chose a tradition or major life event to depict in their own story cloth. Over 100 of them (as many as I could fit) are displayed at the Doyle Administration Building (545 W Dayton St), where school board meetings are held. Their hours are 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. They will be up through April. Come see our final products!
