Stanford Medicine

Dear Colleagues,

Stanford Medicine has achieved yet another milestone in our ongoing mission to provide unparalleled patient care.

Last night, for the first time, the Leapfrog Group presented Stanford Health Care with the Top Teaching Hospital award. By designating us a top teaching hospital, Leapfrog has recognized our success in achieving the highest of standards for safety and quality. This award was accompanied by an "A" rating for our top performance in patient safety, quality of care, and efficiency.

This exciting news comes on the heels of Vizient ranking Stanford Health Care among its top 10 academic medical centers for both inpatient and outpatient care. This represents an exponential improvement, which reflects the collective dedication of our community. To explain the significance of this award, we put together a short video. You can watch it here .

Recognition from these third-party, national organizations illustrates how much we, those providing care as well as those delivering critical behind-the-scenes support, can achieve when we focus our immense talents and passions.

While a cause for celebration, these honors are not our destination. Instead, they reflect our outstanding progress as we relentlessly strive to ensure a healthier world.

Thank you for all that you do to help us realize our Precision Health vision. We are always impressed but never surprised by what you accomplish.

Sincerely,

David Entwistle, President and CEO, Stanford Health Care
