Roush Clean Tech F650 Presentation

Roush Clean Tech F650 EV: Roush, a major supporter of Clean Cities Coalitions around the US, will present their all electric Class 7 Ford F650 to the Sacramento Plug-in Electric Vehicle Collaborative August 18, at 12 noon. The Roush F650 will have a range of 120 miles with a 225kWh battery pack. The Roush presentation is co-sponsored by the Sacramento, East Bay and Long Beach Clean Cities Coalitions. Registration is not required.

Clean Mobility Options Program Vouchers

The California Air Resources Board will launch their Clean Mobility Options Program Vouchers at 9am on October 20. These vouchers will provide funding for zero-emission carsharing, carpooling/vanpooling, bikesharing/scooter-sharing, innovative transit services, and ride-on-demand services in California’s historically underserved communities.

Nissan Experimenting With Electricity As Currency

Nissan, a Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition sponsor, is experimenting with a power management strategy. In Yokohama, a Nissan parking garage allows patrons to “pay” for their parking by “selling” the electrical energy stored in their vehicles.

Paccar Electric and Hydrogen Strategy
|
|
PACCAR’s move into zero-emission heavy-duty trucks continues, with battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell products. PACCAR expects to begin commercial production of battery-electric trucks in 2021 for return-to-base fleets, and is developing hydrogen fuel cell trucks for longer range applications.

Autonomous Class 8 Trucks

|
Autonomous driving for Class 8 trucks is gaining as Navistar joins TuSimple, a San Diego start-up, to have a production truck by 2024.

Renewable Energy Group Enters Supply Agreement
|
|
Renewable Energy Group (REG) and their regional fuel distribution company Hunt & Sons is distributing renewable diesel under their brand name, “REG Ultra Clean” at 12 locations in Northern California, with two in the Sacramento Region. (Note: REG sources their renewable diesel feedstock from US sources.)

Lordstown Motors Electric Pickup
|
|
Lordstown Motors will be introducing their Endurance electric pickup truck in Q1 of 2021, and has entered into a partnership with Holman Enterprises’ ARI Fleet Management Division to provide fleet management and parts distribution. Holman Enterprises’ Auto Truck Group will also partner with Lordstown to provide specialized equipment upfits for the Endurance. Lordstown has also released a video highlighting the Endurance.

Employer-sponsored bike share programs promote worksite wellness, and can help employers attract and retain motivated and talented employees. The California State Department of Public Health has developed a handbook with guidelines for safely implementing an employer bike share program.

GM Partners with EVgo to Triple Fast Charge Network
|
|
GM has partnered with EVgo to add over 2,700 DCFC to their existing network of 800 DCFC, and will have DCFC that range from 100kW to 350kW.

The number and range of classes of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEV) grew in 2019. Half of the models were mid-size. The breakdown of the entire range of light-duty PEVs is interesting.

Panasonic Plans to Develop Cobalt-Free Car Batteries
|
|
Panasonic, the battery supplier for Tesla, has announced that they are racing to reduce the cobalt content of their lithium batteries, and at the same time, they expect to be significantly increasing their battery energy density.
|

For the week ending 7/24/20, refineries in California produced 255738 gallons of gasoline and 73,080 gallons of diesel. Gasoline and diesel production both DECREASED by 3% from last week’s production numbers.
