Ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Praying Pelican Missions, networking with local churches and connecting mission teams to  life- changing ministry opportunities.
Quick Notes from Your Missionaries!
First of all, THANK YOU for the additional prayers over this past month of transitioning to a new style of life for us Normans in the USA.  We feel your prayers!  A lot has happened over the last month, all pointing to God's faithfulness.
Many people have asked how we are all doing, and we can say that we are GOOD!

In other news:
  • The transition right into a new school has gone great!  We now have kids in K, 3rd, 6th, and 8th grades.
  • Our van in Costa Rica SOLD!  Hallelujah!  We are glad to have that over and done with.  Thank you for praying.
  • Reagan tried out for the soccer team along with about 50 other kids.  She made the team so this next month we will be cheering her along as she is on her first organized team!
  • One of our priorities has been to find a solid church family and community.  We have had the opportunity to visit small churches to mega churches, all offering something that we need.  We know that our friend-base will largely come from the church we belong to.  Please continue to pray that we find the right church, get plugged in, and start building relationships.
  • Dinner conversations have now included some random topics like alligators, Code Red shooter drills at school, and loving central air conditioning!
It seems that the world now is at our back door!  Life in south Florida has already given us numerous opportunities to meet people from around the world, as well as many chances to practice our Spanish.
From South Florida to the World,
you're helping to make missions happen!
Thank you for your prayer and financial support!
Increased Vision & Responsibility
Earlier this month Nate had the opportunity to gather with all of the stateside full-time Praying Pelican Missions staff in Minnesota.  On our final night together Matt, the president of PPM, challenged all of us to see every opportunity in light of eternity.  2 Corinthians 4:17 says that "our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."  If we see everything in light of eternity, we know that we have to opportunity to make the most of every moment so that the Gospel can go forward!

Our move to South Florida has been a long journey.  Our first year in Costa Rica we began to feel the tug on our heart to maybe someday relocate to South Florida, but we never had any idea of what that would look like especially when Costa Rica was our current focus.  Now, as we have said "see ya later" to Costa Rica and the amazing friends we have there, we landed in a place that is all new to us.

With just under a month under our belts, we know that God has brought us to this place to expand our vision.  No longer is our calling to just one country, but now to many countries.  No longer is our vision to build up the local staff and pastors in just Costa Rica, but to all of the countries that PPM serves in.

This verse from Isaiah 54:2 is the place we find ourselves in now:
"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes."

As Nate spent 5 days in Minnesota, he found himself in a season of learning and listening.  He intentionally met with the leaders of our different international locations to listen to their hearts and see where he can best be a resource to each location.   Nate will be spending time creating resources to help develop our international locations and will also be traveling to help put on Pastor's Conferences and Staff Training events where needed.  We are excited for this new season but really need your prayers as well!  Pray for creativity to flow and for Nate to be able to organize his time to best resource our staff and partnerships!

Laura was reunited with Dunkin Donuts!
The weather isn't too different from Costa Rica, still hot!
Abbi was actually excited to go to her new school...such a switch in confidence from 3 years ago!
