State, County Urge Residents to Follow Guidance, Stay Safe
State and County health officials continue to urge residents to follow the guidance designed to keep people safe and healthy. On July 31, county officials held a press conference with community leaders asking people to take the risks seriously and practice preventative measures, including:

  • Washing your hands often
  • Wearing a face covering/mask whenever you are near someone outside your immediate household
  • Observing physical distancing outside the home and do not make unnecessary trips or visits
  • Getting tested and follow the health instructions if you test positive or were exposed to someone who tested positive

The county also recently released an updated list of activities and businesses indicating which type are currently allowed to be open/operating, and which are not.

As of Aug. 4, Contra Costa County has 8,176 known cases, with 945 positive cases in Concord. To review a demographic and geographic breakdown of cases, please see the County's COVID-19 dashboard.

Survey Seeks Parent Input on Needs for Upcoming School Year
As the Mt. Diablo Unified School District finalizes their plans for the upcoming school year, the City of Concord Parks & Recreation Department is exploring enrichment programming to further support families with distance learning/hybrid school schedules for school-aged children.

Please take a few minutes to complete the interest survey. Completing the survey does not commit your child to participate in future programs nor does it guarantee a spot for your child(ren), but it will assist us with determining if there is a need/interest. We will be creating an interest list from the survey results so we can keep you informed regarding program details and registration dates.
