Have a Wonderful Break! Chatter Resumes on January 7th
No newsletter will be produced during the winter break. The deadline for submissions for the January 7th issue is Wednesday, January 1st.
Save the Date! The Cherry Crest Annual Auction is Saturday April 25th. For our school's 50th Anniversary we are planning a special celebration with games, raffles, teacher-hosted experiences, silent and live auctions and more! Bring a friend, bring a spouse - just come and join us at a fun, community-focused event!

This annual adult party is the capstone on the PTSA's yearly fundraising efforts. These directly support our students, staff and extracurricular programming that have made Cherry Crest a cherished part of our families' elementary school memories for decades.

Can you help?

  • Procurement is underway… if you have a weekend house, timeshare, sports connection, boat or other one-of-a-kind experience you could donate to our auction, please let us know!
  • We love local business sponsors! We have multiple levels of sponsorship and great opportunities to get your business name in front of our community in a positive way.
  • We need a Microsoft Publisher volunteer to help us put together the printed catalog in the March timeframe.
  • Other volunteering opportunities abound! Watch the Chatter in January for more volunteer positions and a link to our auction website to answer all your questions!

Meanwhile, direct questions and ideas to: auction@cherrycrest-ptsa.org .

Our apologies, the Communications team made a mistake in the calendar section of recent newsletters. No math tournament is scheduled for Cherry Crest as part of the Match Challenges.

We hope students are enjoying the monthly math challenge program and apologize for any disappointment!
Thank You for a Successful Read-a-thon
Together, we exceeded our fundraising goal, r aising a total of $41,567 to support field trips, teacher aides, and other PTSA-sponsored programs. With a record-setting 64% overall participation across the school our students read over 194,000 minutes!

We would like to extend a big thank you to Principal Steere, Ms. Lux, and all of the Cherry Crest teachers and staff (for supporting this Cherry Crest Comm(unity) fundraising event) and to Kaliber Global for generously donating prizes.

Principal Steere announced prize winners at lunch last Friday. . .
GO! Grant Funds Daily Running Club at Cherry Crest
We are thrilled that Cherry Crest received a GO! Grant this year from AMPED , a not-for-profit school-based program amplifying education through daily physical activity.

We launch our first (daily, except Wednesdays) lunch recess running club at the Cherry Crest track on Tuesday, January 14, 2020!

Students can join at any time and run or walk as much or as little as they wish! For every mile and major milestone completed, students will earn charms and prizes. Sign up for a scan card by Friday, January 10th , so students can collect prizes. Parents and teachers are also welcome to run!

We need volunteers to sign up to help with barcode scanning. Sign up for a regular or occasional 30 minute slot and support our students.
