August 4, 2020
Greetings!
In his latest President's Message, Destin Chamber President & CEO Shane A. Moody, CCE, FCCP, says. "Over the past four months, you’ve heard the chamber say this when talking about the economy: Reopen, Recover, Reimagine. While we’ve reopened, the recovery is ongoing and the reimagine is being discussed. Our Economic Recovery Task Force has done a great job providing the chamber with thoughts and ideas on what’s to come. One of the major events just ahead of us is an election, an election that has not received much attention due to the coronavirus pandemic."

Florida Chamber COVID-19 Business Impact Survey
Florida’s job creators are going through unforeseen and unprecedented times. Please take a few minutes and give a snapshot of what your business, and your employees, are going through. If your business has taken extraordinary measures, or if you have an employee you want to highlight who has gone above and beyond, the Florida Chamber wants to hear his or her story as well. The August survey marks the sixth month since Florida’s first COVID-19 case and will provide an updated “snapshot” of what job creators are doing, have done, and what your needs are going forward. Take the survey here.
Phase 4 COVID-19 Relief Package Side-By-Side Summary
Last week, the US Senate introduced its Phase 4 legislative package to provide financial relief to families, businesses, and communities across the country enduring the economic destruction as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The US Chamber prepared an initial side-by-side summary for the business community of the differing House and Senate Phase 4 proposals, specifically as they each pertain to five priority areas — Liability Protection Against Unwarranted Lawsuits, Support for Small and Midsize Employers, Support for Childcare and K-12 Schools, Unemployment and Job Training, and State and Local Assistance. The side-by-side summary also includes initial draft recommendations from the US Chamber for improving the package. Click here to view the side-by-side summary.
