This morning in worship, Pastor Eric announced plans for a merger with Salem UMC of Allentown.
The merger is set to become official on March 31.
"Salem UMC has done amazing things to be the hands and feet of Christ in Center City Allentown," says Pastor Eric, and notes that some of their financial resources will be set aside for use for ministry in Center City Allentown.

Charge Conference Webinar - Thursday, March 18, 5 PMIn accordance with para 2546 of the 2016 UM Book of Discipline, Merger of Local United Methodist Churches, a special Charge Conference is being held by Allentown: Asbury UMC, called by Superintendent Steven Morton, for the purpose of considering a proposal to merge with the congregation at Allentown: Salem UMC, effective 3/31/21. All are welcome to attend but only the elected members of the current church council are responsible for voting on the proposal (para 246.2). The Charge Conference will take place Thursday, March 18, at 5 PM via Zoom.

Final Day to Sign Up for "The Walk" Study
Children's Book Drive for Liberia (Barrels of Love)
A children's book drive for Bête Gbanee School in Paynesville and the Dominic Hena School in Kakata is being held as part of a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Asbury's "Barrels of Love" ministry. Please gather new or gently used children's books (no textbooks please). Look to your children for titles they particularly enjoy(ed). Deliver them to the upper parking lot at Asbury on Sunday, March 14 and March 21 between 9 AM and 10:30 AM.
Extra parking lot volunteers are needed to help guide traffic for this event. If you're able to assist, contact Laurie Theisen, Director of Lay Ministries, at [email protected].

Upcoming UMW Circle Meetings:
Susanna Circle will meet via Zoom on Monday, March 8, at 7 PM. Pastor Barbara Lee will lead discussion on the history of Lent and why this unique season may be vital for you personally as you seek to grow as a disciple of Christ. Visit Asbury's website to sign up to receive more info.
