We thank our Rolling Green Elementary 3rd Grade students for sharing their encouraging words this month. Students learned about taking something we might feel like complaining about and turning it into a positive, being grateful for the opportunities they have, and how to cultivate the mindset of having a positive attitude. Students then created artwork to display on a bulletin board about how they turn a potential negative into a powerful positive. Talk about lifelong learning! #beginswithU

  • "I have to... brush my teeth." "But... I get no cavities."

  • "I have to... wake up early." "So I can... see my friends, and see my teacher, and have fun!"

  • "I have to...do flashcards." "But...then I get good grades."

A significant part of a student’s academic growth is impacted by a student’s social and emotional well-being. All students move at their own pace along the continuum of mental health and well-being depending on events and circumstances in their lives. For students facing behavioral or emotional challenges, we provide additional support for students by helping students learn the content of their classes, improving students’ connections to school, incorporating family and community support in the educational process, and promoting students’ social/emotional growth.

Our Coordinator of Student Family and Community Services and our Facilitators of Family Outreach (FFOs) provide many of these services. We’d like to share more about the outstanding individuals in each of these important roles and welcome you to contact them. Continue Reading
As consumers, we’re becoming more and more tech-savvy with each passing year as we strive to keep updated on the latest tools, gadgets, and apps. While we may be in a state of continually learning new technology, we may not always have the time to sort through multi-page privacy policy updates. For some, privacy settings may not be a concern while for others, privacy settings may be top of mind on a regular basis. No matter where you fall on the continuum of interest in your privacy settings, here are two articles that summarize how to select privacy settings for Facebook, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple, as well as your TV, LinkedIn, Twitter, Yahoo, WiFi routers, and phone plans from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. Some of them may surprise you!

(Please note: Both articles are being shared as a way to provide greater insight into privacy settings and are for your consideration; the privacy settings you select are based on your personal preferences.)
