On June 24, IOM will be releasing an article titled,
Hateful Politicians
. We are asking our network to pray that the real Jesus would use this article to ignite a
revival of honor
. Revival always starts with those following a leader!
Recently the President sent me a letter. He opened his erudition
with:
“Your unwavering faith and support sustain and inspire me in my efforts to strengthen and protect our Nation.”
I want to challenge you to stand with me in being an example of immovable faith in Christ by praying for our President.
As we listen to the news
, or the neighbor next door, we hear horrific statements of hatred coming from politicians, or directed at them. How is it that our nation's leaders, who are called to set an example, have become idyllic examples of hatred? Honestly, most 4th graders are better examples than our politicians and church leaders. The hateful, murderous rhetoric spewed by leaders at all levels, from heads of homes to heads of state, is poisoning and destroying the moral fabric of our homes, country, churches, and communities. And...we wonder why Gen-Z is so disrespectful and rude to our generation.
Revival
starts with prayer. Here is our challenge from Tim Wildmon, President, American Family Association.
IOM Reader:
President Trump's enemies continue to try everything to destroy him, his family, and the presidency. In the history of our country, no president has been attacked as he has. We believe the only hope for him, and this nation, is God.
This is a critical time for America. We’re on the edge of a precipice. Time is short. We need to pray for God to intervene. We need to ask God to protect, strengthen, encourage, and guide the President.
We know that God hears and answers prayer. He can soften hearts and change minds. He is all-powerful, and He rules over the affairs of nations. The Bible instructs us to pray for those in authority, "that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior" (1 Timothy 2:2–3, NKJV).
On June 2, we ask that pastors would lead their congregations in praying for the President, that Sunday schools and other groups would join together and pray, and that individuals and families across the country would have a special focus on praying for the President that day.

Without question, we live in a world filled with hate. So much so, most are devoid of its original definition – nor do they care. Since the Holy Scriptures warn us that hatred will increase the closer we get to His second coming, our focus needs to be in appealing to the mind of Christ in the authentic believers, while encouraging them to pray.
As Tim said,
this is a critical time for America, which means it is a critical time for the church. According to our surveys, we know that some of our readers are "Trump Haters." If you do fall into this category, I leave you with this challenge:

You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
