Historic Baseball Game

Observe a real baseball game between two teams who use historically accurate equipment, garments, and rules to play baseball.  Raffles will be held for adults and children.
No cost.
All are welcome!
Takes place at the Shiawassee baseball fields near Civic Center during the Heritage Festival.

2018 Springfield Township Library Annual Photo Contest

Join us in celebrating the beauty of Springfield Township by sharing your photos of the Township! All photos must be taken inside of Springfield Township. Participants can submit up to 3 photos. There will be a period of public voting and winners get fun prizes.

Youth and adult divisions. No cost to enter.

Please read and fill out entry forms before submitting.

Join us for a 4-week course on Heart-Based Emotional Intelligence.  A trainer from the Heartfulness Institute will discuss self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, empathy and social skills.  No experience necessary.  Each week focuses on a different topic.

Lighthouses Along the Rivers of Steel - An Engaging Look at Train Depots

Preservation Architects and authors, Ron Campbell and Jackie Hoist will talk about the remarkable influence that train depots had on society and the ways in which they changed civilization.  Share in the stories surrounding their development and local tales of intrigue of these "lighthouses" along rivers of steel.  

Ron will be selling his book, "Michigan Destination Depots" for $15.00.

Heritage Festival Parade Participation

Walk with the Reading King and Reading Queen to help promote reading!

Any child who participated in the Summer Reading Program is welcome to walk in the Heritage Day Parade on September 22 (takes place in AM).  Children must have a caregiver walk with them.  The parade route goes from Shultz Park to Civic Center (about one mile).
