"South Bay Junior Academy" will become
"South Bay Christian School" this spring
When SBJA opened its doors in 1964 it offered classes through Gr. 10. Traditionally a "junior academy" in the Seventh-day Adventist education system indicates an elementary school (Gr. K-8) that offers the first two years of high school (Gr. 9-10). Grades 9-10 at SBJA were discontinued about six years ago, but the name remained the same, so last fall we had a contest to re-name the school. Out of about 20 suggestions, "South Bay Christian School" won. At an SBJA Constituency Meeting in October, the new name was voted in, so now we're making the change leading up to the 2020-2021 school year. We're working on a new logo which we'll introduce soon.
