With the Petroleum engineering background, Mr. Marsili worked in Eni and Enterprise Oil before joining Shell 16 years ago as Area Development Lead for Gannet cluster in UK North Sea. Mr. Marsili covered a number of Asset Commercial roles in UK and Italy. Mr. Marsili worked in NBD as Head of M&A in Shell Energy Europe and as Senior Business Development Manager responsible for the Iraq South Gas project.

More recently Mr. Marsili worked as the Venture Implementation Manager and Commercial Director for Basra Gas Company Joint Venture in Iraq.

Lukoil reports 20 pct rise in Q2 profit on stronger oil, weaker rouble

Reuters.com, August 29, 2018: Russia's second-largest oil producer, Lukoil, reported a 20 percent rise in second-quarter net profit helped by stronger oil prices and a weaker rouble.  Net profit came in at 167.3 billion roubles ($2.5 billion) for the second quarter. Analysts, polled by Reuters, had expected a net profit at 171 billion roubles.  Lukoil, controlled by Vagit Alekperov and his deputy Leonid Fedun, said its earnings were supported by higher sales despite a decline in oil production after a global oil deal to curb output.  Read more...
Gulf of Mexico leading the way in Shell's global expansion, says upstream director

Spglobal.com, August 29, 2018: Shell is fast expanding its Gulf of Mexico oil business and should return next year to its past record production levels of around 450,000 b/d in the region, upstream director Andy Brown told S&P Global Platts. In an interview in Stavanger, Norway, Brown said Shell had brought on stream a well a week in the Gulf of Mexico in the last three months. The Appomattox platform, due on stream next year, he said, would enable production not only from the core Appomattox and Vicksburg fields, but also more recent discoveries -- Rydberg, Fort Sumter and this year's Dover find.  Read more...

Russia doubled barley exports and increased corn exports in 2017/18

Blackseagrain.net, August 27, 2018: Corn exports from Russia in June 2017/18 totaled 583.2 KMT. They were 3% higher than in the previous month and 31% higher than in June 2016/17, reports  UkrAgroConsult. Russia supplied 5.25 MMT of corn to foreign markets in September-June 2017/18, or 2% more than in the same period last year.  Read more...

Egypt's trade exchange with Russia increases by 37% over H1 2018

Blackseagrain.net, August 28, 2018: Egypt's trade exchange with Russia increased by 37% during first half (H1) of 2018 in comparison with same period of 2017, recording $3.212bn, according to the Head of Trade Representation of Russia in Egypt, Nikolai Aslanov on Monday, clarifying that the statistics source is the Russian Federal Customs Service.  Read more...
Russia can beat Soviet record of coal mining in 2018

Tass.com, August 27, 2018: Coal mining can be above the level of 420 mln tonnes in 2018, beating the Soviet times record, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Monday. "The threshold of 420 mln tonnes will be exceeded this year. We will most likely exceed the highest level of Soviet times mining reached in 1988. Washing volumes are also expected to grow to 195 mln tonnes, up 28%. Investments will reach 130 bln rubles per year ($1.9 bln) and tax deductions will be above 100 bln rubles ($1.5 bln)," the minister said. Coal mining in Russia surged 15.5% to 410 mln tonnes from 2012 to 2017, Novak added.  Read more...
Chinese tourism to Russia more than doubled this year

Rt.com, August 26, 20018: China's largest travel agency reported that the number of Chinese travelers visiting Russia saw a significant boost from January through July compared to the same period last year.
"Over the past few years, Russia has become a destination enjoying increasing popularity among the Chinese tourists," Victor Tseng, vice president of the Ctrip travel operator, said. "According to our information, in January-July of this year, outbound tourism from China to Russia increased by 150 percent compared to the same period last year." Read more...
Major Russian Airline Tests Blockchain in Bid to Track Fuel Payments

Coindesk.com, August 27, 2018: S7, one of the largest airline operators in Russia, has tested a blockchain-based application that tracks data and paperwork connected to the process for refueling planes. The airline said in a release on Monday that it trialed the application with its fuel supplier, Gazpromneft-Aero, and Alfa-Bank, Russia's largest private bank, on a domestic flight based out of the Tolmachevo International Airport.  Read more...
Saudi Aramco inks strategic collaboration with Russia's Lomonosov Moscow State University

Neftegaz.ru, August 31, 2018: Saudi Aramco Upstream Technology Company (SAUTC), a Saudi Aramco company, has signed a MoU with Russia's Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) to promote cooperation in the area of joint research, primarily to explore oil & gas
Under the MOU, Saudi Aramco and MSU will conduct programs and projects to include developing new advanced materials applied in the oil and gas industry as well as methods and techniques for reservoir and oilfield data acquisition, analysis and computational modeling. The collaboration will also entail both parties organizing bilateral joint laboratories, symposia, workshops and conferences.  Read more...
Russia to Create an Ethereum-Based Transparent Market for Farmers

Coindoo.com, August 29, 2018: The Russian capital is looking to use Ethereum (ETH) in order to create a transparent system aimed at supporting trading activities within the farmers' markets. The government based in Moscow is seeking to develop an intelligent system that will be operated on the basis of the second largest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap, Ethereum. Europe to become first export market for Russia's Aurus vehicles

Tass.com, August 31, 2018: Europe is likely to become the first export market for Russia's Aurus cars and first pre-orders have already been received, Franz Gerhard Hilget, CEO of the Russian car producer, told TASS.
"We have foreign pre-orders," Hilgert said but did not elaborate.
According to him, the car maker is now trying to complete certification in Europe so it is very likely that the first exports of Aurus cars will be to European countries.
"First step is to get the European type of approval because the European approval is accepted in many countries by 80%," he said.  Read more...
Russia, Finland increase Moscow-Helsinki frequencies

Atwonline.com, August 27, 2018: Russia and Finland aviation authorities have agreed to increase flight frequencies from 35X- to 42-X per week on the Moscow-Helsinki route. Currently, Aeroflot and Finnair operate the route, with both using Moscow Sheremetyevo in Moscow. Aeroflot LCC subsidiary Pobeda Airline starts Moscow Vnukovo-Helsinki Oct. 5 using Boeing 737-800s and will operate the additional Russian frequencies.  Read more...

University of Tyumen offers hi-tech housing to incoming students

Tass.com, August 29, 2018: The University of Tyumen opened a modern, comfortable and high-tech dormitory for both Russian and foreign students on August 28, its press service told TASS on Wednesday. "A record number of high school graduates - 2,800 in total - have enrolled in (our) university this year. Almost half of them come from other Russian cities and countries. We have students from the CIS, Africa, Southeast Asia, China and Latin America," the university's head, Valery Falkov, was quoted as saying. Read more...

Uzbekistan and Russia plan to implement a project for establishment of wholesale distribution networks and transport and logistics hubs in the border areas of the two states, Podrobno.uz reported.

Россия. Экспорт пшеницы в 1,7 раза выше прошлогоднего уровня

Ukragroconsult.com, 29 августа, 2018: Темпы экспорта зерна из России в новом сезоне остаются высокими, отмечают аналитики УкрАгроКонсалт. Так, согласно оперативным данным ФТС России, с начала 2018/19 МГ и по состоянию на 22 августа экспортировано 7,8 млн тонн зерновых культур (без учета экспорта в страны ЕАЭС), что на 42% выше, чем за аналогичный период прошлого сезона (5,5 млн тонн). Экспорт российских лекарств вырос на 11%

Iz.ru, 29 августа, 2018: Российские поставщики фармпродукции в первом полугодии продали за рубеж почти 19 тыс. т товара более чем на 20 млрд рублей. В физическом выражении это больше на 11%, а рублевом эквиваленте - на 8%, чем за тот же период годом ранее, следует из данных Федеральной таможенной службы (ФТС). Тенденция роста объема поставок фармтоваров за границу вписывается в общий тренд увеличения несырьевого экспорта, наблюдаемый в последние годы, и соответствует целям, поставленным президентом. Внешнеторговый оборот России в I полугодии вырос почти на 22%

Eg-online.ru, 28 августа, 2018: Внешнеторговый оборот России по итогам января - июня 2018 г. составил 328,7 млрд долл., прирост, как сообщает Министерство экономического развития РФ, составил 21,7% по отношению к аналогичному периоду 2017 г. При этом прирост экспорта составил 26,7% до 213,3 млрд долл., импорта -13,5% до 115,4 млрд долл. В общем объёме товарооборота доля экспорта по сравнению с январём - июнем 2017 г. увеличилась до 64,9% с 62,3%, при снижении доли импорта до 35,1% с 37,7%.  Читать далее...
Renault планирует экспорт новой модели Arkana из России в другие страны

Rns.online, 29 августа, 2018: Компания Renault, которая 29 августа на автосалоне в Москве провела мировую премьеру модели купе-кроссовера Arkana, планирует наладить поставки автомобиля с завода в Москве в другие страны.  «Модель обладает высоким экспортным потенциалом для поставок в страны ближнего и дальнего зарубежья.
