Join the conversation and act to end distracted driving
The public is encouraged to attend
A growing and life-threatening problem in Missouri, distracted driving contributed to more than 19,000 crashes last year alone. 

The National Transportation Safety Board and the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety are joining forces to fight distracted driving. 

In cooperation with StopDistractions.org and the University of Missouri, the NTSB and the Coalition are presenting a Missouri Roundtable on Distracted Driving: Act to End Deadly Distractions. The roundtable will take place on Oct. 29. from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Stotler Lounge of Memorial Union on the University of Missouri-Columbia campus.

The discussion will be streamed live on the web. The full list of panelists and agenda are available on the NTSB website.
Gov. Parson visits bridge projects
Yesterday, Gov. Mike Parson visited three bridges that will be repaired or replaced as part of his Focus on Bridges program. Construction contracts have been awarded on 27 of the 45 bridges that will be repaired or replaced under the program. All of the bridges are to be compl eted in 2020 . Read more .
MoDOT director receives award
Recently, the Ozarks Transportation Organization presented their annual appreciation award to MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna (right). They recognized the director for his outstanding leadership in working with state and federal leaders to bring additional funding to Missouri.
Deer will dare; drivers beware
Cooler temperatures and longer nights mean more wildlife movement. MoDOT reminds motorists to watch out for wild animals--like deer--that might appear without warning in roadways. Now is the peak period for deer/vehicle collisions, especially at dawn and dusk. Read more .
