We welcomed special guests, crossed the border, used our imaginations, and listened to the
smallest violins you've ever seen! It was a great week at MPH!
A Morning With Grandparents & Special Friends
Last Friday we welcomed more than 150 guests to campus for A Morning with Grandparents and Special Friends. This annual Lower and Middle School program allowed guests an opportunity to visit classrooms, meet teachers, tour campus, and hear amazing musical performances. Take a look at a few videos of both divisions performing on the right, as well as the photo gallery below.

Eight MPH students brought home awards:

Gabe Pasniciuc , Agnes Coleman, and Andrew Benincasa

Great job to all of the team members!
Dungeons & Dragons: Still a Teen Favorite!
A group of MPH Middle Schoolers gathers every Tuesday in Amos 2 for Dungeons & Dragons Club. According to www.toyhalloffame.org , players assume the roles of characters who inhabit a world moderated and narrated by a Dungeon Master (designated student), a player who explains the action to others and solicits their reactions to the unfolding story. The Dungeon Master’s storytelling skills and the players’ abilities to imagine add enjoyment to the game. Some aspects of the play are familiar, such as dice. But the special dice for Dungeons & Dragons hold up to 20 sides. Rolling them determines each character’s individual strengths, plots their complex interactions, and decides the outcome of their encounters. This 45-year-old role-playing game sparks the imagination of those who play, and each week our students come back to see what will happen next!
Suzuki at MPH

Lower School strings teacher, Teresa Mirakian, works with Suzuki students in Pre-K through second grade. They gather once per six-day cycle for a group lesson. The students work on ensemble skills and reinforce techniques they learn in their weekly semi-private lesson. They love sharing what they have been working on with their friends. See some photos on the left!
Gratitude

A special thanks to our parent volunteers who helped with registration for our Morning with Grandparents and Special Friends: Karen Trivelpiece, Swati Murthy '01, Erika Lambert, and Andy Anderson. Their hospitality was greatly appreciated by our guests!

Also, our thanks goes to Theresa Heath and Jeremy Winston for their leadership and organization of this year's Polka-Tot sale. Thanks to them, and all who donated, $1,400 was raised for MPH.
