Welcome to the start of what will
surely be a fantastic school year.
We kicked off with a
very successful freshman orientation program
and a chance to
greet transfer students.
Students and families were delighted by the school spirit displayed by the
drumline, cheerleaders, dance team, and SGA, as well as student ambassadors and Langley Link Mentors.
Teachers were welcomed back to work with a
tasty breakfast the PTSA provided.
We got the school year proper off to a phenomenal start with
a video featuring our administrative team,
inspired by the hit TV show
The Office.
A huge shout-out to the
broadcast students who conceptualized and videotaped the piece.
(We will post it soon on the school website so you can have a look.)

There was
sheer joy on students’ faces
as they entered the
renovated cafeteria
for the first time. Many were not deterred by the 90°weather and opted to have lunch in the courtyard. After many months of construction,
my heart was warmed by the sight of kids enjoying the new space.
And there’s more! With great enthusiasm, I can share that
the final classroom move will occur Labor Day weekend.
Ten math teachers will move to their permanent classrooms located adjacent to the cafeteria. If all goes well,
renovation work will conclude by the end of first quarter.
Here are some
important dates
to note on your calendars. There will be a
3-hour early release on Sept 19. Late buses
will begin on
Sept 26;
they will run on Wednesdays and will depart ~4:45. Also, I hope to see each of you at
Back to School Night on Mon, Oct 1
(note the new date)
.
I’m looking forward to a
positive school year for each and every student.
If your family needs anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Go Saxons!
