November Membership Meeting
--NECA 1025 Presentation
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) held its November Membership Meeting on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at the Erie Cafe in Chicago, Illinois. The session featured Mr. David Ward, NECA Midwest Field Representative with a discussion regarding the NECA 1025 Initiative.

The ECA Student Committee works to educate students of the many opportunities in the electrical construction industry. The Committee oversees the activities of the NECA IIT Student Chapter. The most recent Student Chapter meeting was held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).

The ECA Research and Education Committee sponsored a seminar called, "Next Level: Are You a Project Manager or a Project Witness?," which was held on November 20, 2019 at the Drake Oak Brook Hotel, Oak Brook, Illinois.

Young Professionals of ECA: 2020 Leadership Conference / Holiday Happy Hour
Holiday Happy Hour
The ECA Young Professionals Holiday Happy Hour is scheduled for December 18, 2019.
The Happy Hours are designed to give young professionals a chance to meet with peers in the industry, in a social, relaxed environment. There is no cost to attend, and you do not have to pre-register. Just stop by and celebrate the season with industry friends!

CISCO Scholarships Available
T
he Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) is a joint labor-management group consisting of numerous area unions and construction trade associations in the Northeastern Illinois area. The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) is an active member. All signatory Local Union #134, IBEW contractors and signatory electricians can benefit from CISCO programming.
CISCO is accepting applications for its 2020 Scholarship Program. The three different categories enable a wider range of students of both union building trade members and union contractor employees to apply. CISCO offers (3), four-year scholarships to high school seniors; (2), two-year awards for seniors planning on attending a community college; and (2), two-year continuing education awards to union members or contractor employees.

Commissioner Frydland Receives "Rebuilding Chicago" Award
The Electrical Contractors' Association of City of Chicago (ECA) and Local Union #134, IBEW are supporters of "Rebuilding Together - Metro Chicago." The joint effort of the ECA and Local 134 realized through the "Powering Chicago" effort was highlighted on Thursday, November 21, 2019 as "Powering Chicago" was a major supporter of the "Rebuilding Together - Metro Chicago's Paint the Town" fundraiser at the Greenhouse Loft at 2545 W. Diversey Avenue in Chicago. The Chicago Department of Buildings Commissioner, Judy Frydland received a special recognition Award for her efforts with "Rebuilding Together -Metro Chicago." The ECA congratulates the Commissioner!
