Join KB for our unique family Rosh Hashanah services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration. Accessible to all! It is appropriate for school age children through adult.  There is a separte younger children's portion to the service geared to children 5 & under and their parents and includes a snack.

Join KB for our Adult Yom Kippur services! This is a beautiful, humanistic holiday celebration.   Kol Nidre, ancient, traditional melody will be chanted.  There will be a memorial section where you may offer names of loved ones departed.  The service is accessible to all and all are welcome.

KAHAL B'RAIRA GATHERING

Adults and children, members and visitors, are encouraged to come and participate together! (No Sunday School classes) Exciting workshops for all ages.  Brunch refreshments.   
 
Workshops include:
Robotics & Jewish Culture                                                                                                          C reate, design, decorate and bring robots to life. Using KIBO, a robot made specifically for young children, we will learn about Jewish culture through the lens of engineering. Along the way, we will also practice programming, problem-solving, arts and storytelling.
Led by the CJP Discovery Club
 
Klezm'raira!
We will learn to sing one of Zach's favorite klezmer dance party tunes, and create a flash-orchestra using only our voices and body percussion in a grand parade. All are welcome, regardless of musical experience. Led by Zach Mayer, Music Director, KB Music Director

Jewish Flavors 
Are there certain flavors that make Jewish food Jewish? Or do we eat the foods of the places to which Jews have immigrated? Come explore this question through a look at Jewish history and tradition. We'll also consider whether pickles might be the most Jewish food and what even is a pickle, really? (Includes taste test!) Led by Marc Stober, Cantorial Student 
 
Jewish Humanist Hero  -
Society for Humanistic Judaism (our parent organization) has chosen Author Grace Paley as this year's Jewish Humanist Role Model.  Hear why she was chosen and more about the SHJ and its initiatives and activities.  Led by Jon Levine, KB's representative to the SHJ




 
VISIT KAHAL B'RAIRA

Visit Kahal B'raira and take part in all parts of our lively Sunday morning.  Arrive by 9:00 am to get oriented.  We begin the day singing led by our music director.  Sunday school begins after that and families with children may visit classrooms and meet teachers.  Adults can experience our humanistic service and program and join us for coffee and cake.  Program features Daniel Lord Small on History and the Human Brain.  Stay till noon to experience all parts of a "KB Day" and if possible stay after to celebrate the Sukkot holiday.   Please RSVP to info@kahalbraira.org


 
Celebrate Sukkot

DRAMATIC PRESENTATION - UNVEILED - FIVE MUSLIM WOMAN

On SEPTEMBER 8th there will be rallies and educational events across the country: Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice.  Here in Boston the event will be at 12pm in East Boston.  This event will likely be of interest to many KB members. News from our Refugee Relief Subcommittee:
 
Over the summer, members of the Refugee Relief Subcommittee joined with a local group based in Arlington (https://www.arcscluster.org)  to help house and provide support to a visually-impaired Liberian refugee who is seeking political asylum.
