Fair season has come and gone! Check out the results from our Stevens County 4-Hers!

4-H records are due by September 10

All 4-H members must turn in their completed 4-H Records to the Extension Office by September 10.

4-H awards applications due September 10

4-Hers interested in applying for the 4-H Outstanding Project Awards and the 4-H Key Award must turn in applications by September 10.

4-H record judging volunteers needed

4-H parents are needed to help judge 4-H Records on Tuesday, September 11 and Wednesday, September 12.

Hey youth leaders, run to be a 4-H Leaders Council Officer!

We are looking for 4-Hers to serve as 4-H Leaders Council Officers! Why be an officer? It is a great leadership opportunity and a way to be involved in 4-H on the county level! Applications are due October 8.

Make plans to attend the Fall Volunteer Training

Join us for the annual Fall Volunteer Training: 4-H Grows Relationships. Each 4-H Club needs to have 2 youth or adult volunteers at the training on Tuesday, October 9, at 6 p.m.

Join the Fun! Plan to attend the 4-H Ambassador Kick-Off! 

Join us for a night of fun and leadership on Saturday, September 22, from 5-7 p.m. at the WCROC!

4-H Awards Banquet scheduled for October 6

All 4-H Families are invited to join us for the annual 4-H Awards Banquet on Saturday, October 6, at 6 p.m. at the WCROC in Morris.

More 4-H news this month
Re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 4-H program year will open mid-September.
 
Interim 4-H State Leader Jennifer A. Skuza reflects on her long history with 4-H and University of Minnesota Extension. She invites 4-H youth, families and volunteers to connect with her at the Minnesota State Fair.
 
If you're going to the state fair, don't forget to download the NEW 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair app! You'll be able to find everything 4-H at the fair, keep up with judging results and livestock show staging announcements, and much more.
 
Youth on state fair show committee - apply today to become a youth member on a state fair show committee. This is for youth in grades 9 through one year post high school. Apply by Sept. 15 for a position starting in early October.
 
Registration for Citizenship Washington Focus, a week-long trip to Washington, DC, will open in fall 2018 for the summer 2019 experience. Youth gain civic engagement skills while touring DC with youth from across the US! Complete a short survey to receive a reminder email when registration material is posted.
 
Volunteers give much to the Minnesota 4-H program! Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2019 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15, 2018.
Fall 2018 SS&W leader certification training materials are now posted! Adults and youth (9th grade and older) are invited to attend this Sept. 29-30 training at the Gopher Campfire Conservation Club in Hutchinson. Be prepared for the new 4-H year with trained volunteers - register by Sept 12!
Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall
Powerful things happen for youth when they're in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, "4-H Grows Relationships," will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Watch for dates and locations across the state this fall and plan to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.
