Help Us to Love
Loving Father,
You sent us the gift of your Son, One like us in all ways but sin, to show us what it means to love as you love. Listen to him, you tell us. Provide us with the grace to hear and respond to his voice, to look at the world’s brokenness and not feel despair, but see your promise that all the world shall be transfigured by your love. Allow us to be transfigured to do what you will, that we might use the life we have been given to glorify you. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Dear Parishioners:
Lent is Penitential Season, one in which the Sacrament of Reconciliation can play a central part in atoning for our sins and making things right with the Lord. During Lent in years past, we hosted Communal Reconciliation Services at our parishes where we had multiple priests present to hear individual confessions. But because of the social distancing we need to practice during the pandemic, we will not have Communal Penance Services at either STA or SJB this Lenten season.
However, in our deanery (Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Counties) the “Pray, Reconcile and Rejoice Lenten Day of Reconciliation” will be celebrated at two parishes: St. Peter Claver Parish in Sheboygan and at Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac. So, on Wednesday, March 24th, both places will have priests serving as confessors to hear individual confessions from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
In addition, I will continue to hear confessions from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on first and third Saturdays at STA and on second and fourth Saturdays at SJB through the month of March. And if neither Saturday mornings nor Wednesday the 24th works for you, I am available to hear private confessions by appointment. Just call me at SJB (920-892-4006) to arrange for an appointment.
See you in Church. Father Phil

CSR Rice Bowl: Second Week of Lent
BETTER MEALS IN MADAGASCAR
In Madagascar, half of all children are undernourished. That means 50% of kids won’t grow to reach their full potential. But communities are changing this by focusing on improving health and nutrition.
What role has food played in your life?
How can you help those who lack access
to enough nutritious food?
Visit crsricebowl.org to learn more.
Return the CRS Rice Bowls to the base of the cross in the church vestibule when they are filled or by Good Friday. An integrated part of partnering with CRS Rice Bowls is that 25% of donations will be given locally, this year to the Plymouth Food Pantry.

Scout Eagle Project Food Drive / February 20-March 7
Hello All! My name is Kevin Smith and I am a local scout with Troop 851. For my eagle project, I am organizing a food drive with local churches, and your church decided to participate. From Saturday, February 20 through Sunday, March 7, there will be a box in your gathering area to hold donations. If you are interested in donating, please bring your donations in a plastic bag and deposit them into the box. In particular, the food pantry is looking for hygiene products to be donated as they are more difficult to supply to families in need. Please be generous as this will help local families. Thank you for your time.

Catholic Social Teaching - 101

Catholic Social Teaching (Part 6 of 7)
Call to Family, Community and Participation
The person is not only sacred but also social. How we organize our society—in economics and politics, in law and policy—directly affects human dignity and the capacity of individuals to grow in community. Marriage and the family are the central social institutions that must be supported and strengthened, not undermined. We believe people have a right and a duty to participate in society, seeking together the common good and well-being of all, especially the poor and vulnerable.

Committed to Delivering Excellence Educating the Whole Child
St. John the Baptist School is committed to following their mission of growing in knowledge of the Catholic faith, striving for personal and academic excellence, and serving God and others. The teachers and support staff truly educate the whole child, meeting individual needs. Beyond teaching the academics, St. John the Baptist School fosters students' development in their relationships, identity, emotional skills, and overall well-being. For example, our smaller class sizes help to promote a sense of community and our staff invites students' experiences to communicate that all students are valued and welcomed. As a PBIS (Positive Behaviors Interventions Support) school, we work to develop students' social-emotional skills teaching them how to manage stress, while working on social skills like collaboration and empathy. The school partners with parents and the greater community to provide well-rounded educational opportunities and support for students to experience success. One example of how we partner with our community is when we work with Angel Hugs to provide cards or craft items for those families experiencing childhood cancer. It is our goal that by this integrated approach, students will develop to their full potential.

The February Grab n Go meal was another tasty success!
A team of SJB & STA volunteers prepared a total of 150 meals in the commercial kitchen at SJB, delivering 48 of those meals to the homebound by 3 delivery crews. The remainder of the meals were handed out by volunteers in our parking lot drive-through. Thank you to SJB students for decorating the brown paper meal bags and for creating beautiful valentines that were included in each meal. One of our home delivery recipients shared this:
“Thanks for the yummy spaghetti dinner. I can’t tell you how good it was. Still nice and warm when I received it and fresh carrots. Such a treat! And a huge brownie for dessert. However, the biggest star was the homemade artwork on the bag as well as the cutest valentine. I don’t have grandchildren so it really warms my heart to get those drawings. Please pass my thanks along to the children and all the workers as well.”
We continue to be grateful for the interest and support to offer these monthly Grab n Go meals for the community. Thank you and mark your calendar for the March meal - Tuesday, March 16, 2021, as well as our Easter Sunday noon meal on April 4, 2021.

"The Walk to Mary" Annual Pilgrimage
The Walk to Mary has become a pilgrimage like no other in the world. Start with St. Joseph (at the National Shrine of St. Joseph) and walk to Mary (at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help) to get to Jesus. This annual pilgrimage has impacted lives and filled hearts with many blessings from the Holy Family. The 21 mile walk spiritually prepares us for the destination – America’s only Church-approved Marian apparition site, wherein 1859, the Blessed Mother appeared to Adele Brise on the site of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin. Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 1, 2021! Visit the Walk to Mary website for more information.
Let your pilgrimage start today!
