Food Stand Committee will be meeting to recap County Fair

The Food Stand Committee is meeting on Monday, September 17 from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Pope County Court House Community Room.

Our next Leaders Council Meeting will be on September 23

The 4-H Leaders Council is meeting on Sunday, September 23, from 5-7 pm at the Pope County Court House Community Room to elect officers, approve the budget, and hear committee review of 2018 reports.

Horse Committee is meeting on September 25

The Horse Committee is meeting on Tuesday, September 25 from 6-7 pm at the Pope County Court House Community Room.

Livestock Committee Meeting scheduled for September 25

Livestock Committee Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, from 7-9 pm at the Pope County Court House Community Room.

Plan to attend the Pope County Awards Banquet on October 7

The 2017-2018 4-H Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, October 7 starting at 1:30 pm. Youth receiving recognition for years in 4-H, record honors, award winners, herdsmanship winners, and more will be recognized at this event.

More 4-H news this month
Celebrate National 4-H Week, October 7-13 by participating in the Promotional Display Contest. Each Club is eligible to participate for a chance to win a cash prize. Contact the office to indicate your display's location and a brief message from the club about why this display celebrates 4-H by Wednesday, October 10.
 
The Pope County Annual Volunteer Training will be held on Sunday, October 28 from 3-5 pm at the Pope County Courthouse Community Room.

Re-enrollment for the 2018-2019 4-H program year will open mid-September.
 
Interim 4-H State Leader Jennifer A. Skuza reflects on her long history with 4-H and University of Minnesota Extension. She invites 4-H youth, families and volunteers to connect with her at the Minnesota State Fair.
 
If you're going to the state fair, don't forget to download the NEW 4-H at the Minnesota State Fair app! You'll be able to find everything 4-H at the fair, keep up with judging results and livestock show staging announcements, and much more.
 
Youth on state fair show committee - apply today to become a youth member on a state fair show committee. This is for youth in grades 9 through one year post high school. Apply by Sept. 15 for a position starting in early October.
 
Registration for Citizenship Washington Focus, a week-long trip to Washington, DC, will open in fall 2018 for the summer 2019 experience. Youth gain civic engagement skills while touring DC with youth from across the US! Complete a short survey to receive a reminder email when registration material is posted.
 
Volunteers give much to the Minnesota 4-H program! Consider nominating an outstanding volunteer for a 2019 4-H Salute to Excellence Award. All nomination materials are due by Sept. 15, 2018.

Fall 2018 SS&W leader certification training materials are now posted! Adults and youth (9th grade and older) are invited to attend this Sept. 29-30 training at the Gopher Campfire Conservation Club in Hutchinson. Be prepared for the new 4-H year with trained volunteers - register by Sept 12!

Plan to attend annual volunteer training this fall
Powerful things happen for youth when they're in a positive relationship with caring adults. The 2018 annual volunteer training, "4-H Grows Relationships," will ready youth and adult volunteers to connect to young people in meaningful ways. Watch for dates and locations across the state this fall and plan to bring a team of youth and adult volunteers.
