Sunday Breakfast
Breakfast this coming Sunday, October 27, will be provided by guest chefs, Nelson & Janice Toebbe.

Our Sunday topic is on CS Lewis taught by Dave Kirchinger. We will cover his biography and his writings. If you want to do any pre-reading for discussion sake, we will cover Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, his science fiction space travel trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra and That Hideous Strength), and the Chronicles of Narnia.

Please plan on joining everyone in Board Hall between 8:30am and 9:45 where you will not only enjoy great food but a time for fellowship.

All Saints' Day
At each service the weekend of Nov. 2 & 3, we will be celebrating All Saints Day.

If you would like the name of a departed loved one read aloud during worship, please print their name legibly on the registers located in both Narthexes or email Dawn at: [email protected]. Please add your own name, in case we need to contact you about pronunciation.

The last day to add names is Thursday, October 31, 2019.

Winter Foyer Groups Sign-Ups
Foyer Groups are groups of 6-8 (could be more) people that meet for a meal (at someone's home or at a restaurant). Every person (or couple) takes a turn arranging a meeting.  After the Winter meetings, new groups will begin in the Spring.

Besides having fun and getting to know each other, Foyer Groups offer an excellent opportunity to discuss where our church is now, where it is going and how we feel.   Of course, the groups have no assigned topics and people may just want to let the conversations ramble and flow, laugh and have a good time.

Sign-ups end this Sunday, October 27.   Call Calvin Riley Pinney: 245 1623 or Caroline Eddleman: 253-0135 for information or questions.

Sing Along
Let's get together for a Sing-Along on Monday, October 28th at 6:30pm in the Church. There are only so many hymns we can sing during worship every weekend.

This will give us a chance to enjoy some of our favorites that we don't get to sing very often.  In addition to the Hymnal 1982 and Songs of Praise and Worship, we'll have a selection of several dozen pieces to choose from that aren't in either of those books.

Golden oldies you might have grown up on, especially if you were once Baptist, Methodist, etc., like "Because He Lives," "How Great Thou Art," "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms," and many, many more.  We sing about an hour, longer if we like.

The Lay Pastoral Care Ministry Retreat
The Ministry will meet Sunday, October 27 after the 10 AM service at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 330 North Hubbard's Lane for their Fall Retreat. A time of fellowship and lunch will be held, then our Associate Rector, Mother Allison, will guide us in a meditation, "Shepherding the Flock".

Afterwards, we will have our meeting for updates. Please pray for the ministry as we continue our service to those in need.

This is our 8th year participating in the Louisville Free Coat Exchange. St. Luke's parishioners have donated over a 1000 coats. We will collect new and gently used coats until Thanksgiving Day.

Please see collection boxes in the Narthex at church.
On Friday November 29th we will deliver our coats to various distribution sites in downtown Louisville. They will be given away on Black Friday from 10am until 1pm. Any leftover coats are donated to non-profits to continue the give.
