Keeping Families Close
Mission Moment: Putting Life Back Together

" Thank you so very much for the generosity you have shown my family and I during probably the hardest period of our lives.

After my daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, I felt like my world was ending. While staying in the room sponsored at the Ronald McDonald House, my family and I started putting it back together again. Positive results and good news came during my stay and soon I get to take my daughter home.

Thank you for helping keep my family together during this time."
A Message from our CEO

Happy August! It's hard to believe that we are in our last couple of weeks of summer. It has been a blast with so many events and activities to help support our families.

Earlier this month, we said thank you to our amazing team of volunteers with a dinner, awards ceremony and concert at Symphony on the Prairie. A big congratulations to our Lori Kleiman Award winners, Craig Ito and Bob Schofield, for their hard work and dedication to our mission. We'd also like to give a special shout-out to George and Marsha Gordon who celebrated their 35th anniversary with our House this year. George and Marsha began volunteering at our House just a few short months after we opened and have made an immense impact on our organization and the families we have served over that time!

Following our volunteer celebration, we turned to Victory Field where we root, root, rooted for the home team at Super Hero Night! On Saturday, August 11 our friends, the Indianapolis Indians, sported limited-edition Batman jerseys that were auctioned off to support RMHCCIN families. This concluded our final Super Hero night event with the Indians this summer bringing the total proceeds raised to more than $15,000! It takes a village to keep families together and we are incredibly grateful for ours.

As we look ahead into the fall and winter months, we need your help more than ever. The start of the school season is the perfect time to start a class pop tab collection, throw a school-wide penny war, host an after-school bake sale and more! Be sure to visit our website for more information.

Until next time!

Our 2017 Annual Report is Now Available!

Each year, RMHCCIN publishes an annual report - a snapshot of all the work your support helped us accomplish in the past year.

Mark your calendars! Our annual Taste gala presented by Indiana University Health will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Biltwell Event Center. Around the House

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! We celebrated the dog days of summer with a delicious DIY ice cream bar. A big thank you to our Operations team and Guest Services Volunteers who helped put this together!

Our super heroes in-training got a visit from our good friends Wonder Woman and Super Girl from Courage & Kindness Co. this month. They participated in some super hero training, story time and even got their official super hero capes (thanks to the Indianapolis Indians)!
Corporate Spotlight: McDonald's of Central Indiana

As our mission partner,  McDonald's of Central Indiana has been there from the very beginning. Whether they are preparing a meal, hosting a fundraising campaign, celebrating RMHCCIN dads at our annual Father's Day lunch or supporting our cause through partnerships - we know that McDonald's is always there when we need them.
Though words cannot fully express the gratitude and thanks we extend to our local owner/operators for their continued support, the smiles on our families' faces certainly can. Thank you for being a part of our RMHCCIN family.
Fun Fact #7: Did you know we have over 300 registered volunteers?

the 2018  Lori Kleiman Award.
Yes, you read that right. We have over 300 wonderful volunteers who give their time and talent back to the House to support the 5,000+ families we serve every year. From our Guest Services Volunteers (GSVs) who help our families get a room, to our master gardeners who keep our House looking its best, all of our volunteers help us continue to make our House a home.

This month our volunteers enjoyed the music of the Beatles at Symphony on the Prairie while celebrating all of their hard work at our annual Volunteer Celebration. George & Marsha Gordon celebrated 35 years at the House and Craig Ito & Bob Schofield were recipients of the prestigious Lori Kleiman award, which recognizes volunteers who most exemplify the  dedication and values of the late Lori Kleiman, a special RMHCCIN volunteer.  Congratulations to all of our volunteers and thank you for being the Heart of our House!
