A Note from Sam Bennett, Sea Pines CSA President

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Sunday, it is hard to believe there is a tropical storm just to the south. Yet our area is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning . If you have not done so already, please take this time to secure anything that may be impacted by tropical storm force winds.

Sea Pines CSA has made our normal storm preparations, including lowering lagoon levels throughout the community, securing items at our managed areas, and ensuring Sea Pines CSA drains and outfalls are clear. In an effort to keep you updated on Sea Pines CSA services and operations, please note the following items below:

  • The Sea Pines CSA Administration office and Sea Pines ARB office will be closed tomorrow, August 3.
  • The Sea Pines Trolley Service has been suspended for tomorrow, August 3.
  • Tower Beach access and facilities will be closed tomorrow, August 3.
  • The Sea Pines Pass Office, Sea Pines entrance gates, security, and our security dispatch phone line at 843-671-7170 are all operational at this time. We will notify you in advance if these services need to be modified due to storm conditions.

Weather updates:
The latest National Hurricane Center 11 AM  advisory  noted that Tropical Storm Isaias has maximum sustained winds are near 65 mph (100 km/h) with higher gusts. Some fluctuations in strength will be possible during the next 48 hours.

Isaias is moving toward the north-northwest near 8 mph (13 km/h) and this general motion is expected to continue through Monday morning. A turn toward the north and
north-northeast is anticipated on Monday and Tuesday with an
increase in forward speed.
