Sponsor Highlight - EAI Education

NJCEC Celebrates Our NEWEST Gold Level Sponsor - "EAI EDUCATION"

NJCEC welcomes EAI EDUCATION, our newest GOLD LEVEL SPONSOR. Their ad/video will be featured on our next five WWW (weekly Wednesday webinars). Tune in if you have the time. You can also find them at www.EAIeducation.com. You need to know that their sponsorship fee goes directly into the NJCEC Student Scholarship Fund. Thank you to EAI EDUCATION.

EAI is no stranger to NJCEC. If you have ever attended a NJCEC conference, usually held at Ramapo College, you received their conference gift of a blue cloth bag. They are continuing the tradition of support for NJCEC and have provided us with a series of easy-to-read slides with a short YouTube video that gives you a quick overview of their products and services. These are particularly valuable to educators during these difficult pandemic times.

Their affordable sturdy desk shields (easy enough for any student to assemble) do not slide or fall off the desk top. The flexible student seats are ideal for special needs students. Their comprehensive array of mathematics manipulatives and math kits are essential tools for inquiry-based learning with STEM applications. Their language arts readers, grade level student appropriate, promote opportunities for interdisciplinary learning. Of course, I must mention their famous Smart Pals which are inexpensive, easy to use, and provide every instructor the ability to see in a single glance, the progress of an entire class, individual student and in general, the effectiveness of the instructional process.

EAI will customize products to meet the needs of your students. They can offer discounts, free masks, and free shipping under certain conditions. They are developing affordable, user-friendly grade level student kits to combat the “Summer Slide” and to maintain their maximum potential for the next school year. Watch for their announcements and be ready to get the jump on fighting the pandemic effect on learning.

NJCEC Thanks Sparta Township Public Schools for Leading the Inclusive Way

Written by: Saskia Brown

The Sparta Township Public School District in Sparta, NJ, has taken a bold stand to address racial equity to develop an inclusive school community. In honor of Black History Month, the school culture and climate committee Sparta C3 Racial Equity Taskforce led by Dr. Saskia Brown and the Sparta Diversity Council led by Mr. Scott Kercher worked on a collaborative project with students, parents, and staff called Our Voices United. Our Voices United brings awareness to racialized experiences and unites the community in the shared value of humanity to ensure a welcoming place for all.

Dr. Brown said, "our students have called us to the task, and we can no longer sit silently on the matter of race. I understand these conversations are uncomfortable, but racial equity is not a political issue; it is a human issue. I am fortunate to be part of a community filled with so many individuals committed to this work. This work is not about me but about them. Racial equity and inclusion are not a Sparta issue; this is a national issue that impacts our community. There are so many great things happening in our district, this is just another one. The Sparta C3 committee is not just about racial equity. We work to support areas of social-emotional learning, mental wellness, and staff morale to ensure a positive school culture and climate."

The Sparta C3 Racial Equity Taskforce developed a website with frequently asked questions and resources. Please use the link below to access the vlog and resources. You will be inspired and empowered by the leaders, students, parents, and staff in this district that inclusion means all. Sparta C3 Racial Equity Taskforce Website
