2020 FRA Conference 101

Save the date! The 2020 FRA Annual Conference will be held at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach from October 14-16.

Award Spotlight: City of Dunedin

Congratulations to the City of Dunedin for receiving the 2019 Outstanding New Building Project Award for the Artisan project. 

The Artisan focused on creating a multi-use building that offered city residents and visitors an engaging new development. The Artisan features 65 residences that is  centered  on a three-story lobby. 

Amenities include welcoming lounge areas, game rooms, televisions, billiards, a state-of-the-art fitness center and more! 

The development also offers retail shops and over 300 parking places, where 234 of them are open to the public.

Project Brings Affordable Housing  to Lakeland

On November 18, the City of Lakeland CRA sold property in the Parker Street Neighborhood to Green Mills Group to build 80 affordable apartments.

Known as Midtown Lofts, t he development will cover an entire block and aims to improve the quality of life for all residents.  

Green Mills Group specializes in affordable housing and plans to lease the apartments to those making between 40 and 80 percent of the area median income.

The City of Lakeland CRA is dedicated to addressing blighted conditions within the CRA and revitalizing underdeveloped areas. Lakeland CRA plans, regulates changes and implements capital improvements and organizes program developments to redevelop its community.

Board Member Spotlight:
Clifford B. Shepard

The FRA would like to highlight one of our board members, Clifford "Cliff" Shepard!

Cliff graduated law school from the University of Florida and his practice developed  in the areas  of local government law, complex commercial litigation, real estate development, insurance defense and construction law and more. 

Community service has always been a staple in Cliff's professional life and he has served on various organization's executive boards. He currently serves the FRA as general counsel.
