Interested in Volunteering?
The non-profit, Project Kids Eat, which we donated to during our potluck will be in need of additional items. We will give items for hygiene use, socks and underwear during Spring Break, Summer Vacation and the Winter break in December and Janurary. We will coordinate with our membership a drop off point and take the items to the organization during those periods.
If you know of an organization in need of volunteers please share it with the group. One aspect of TTN is giving back to the community.

We Made the News
TTN was featured in Gracie Bonds Staples column in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Thursday, August 9th digital (online) version and in the August 11th print edition. We attracted a lot of coverage and many inquiries. Many women in the Atlanta area are our peers and we are so happy to make the connection.
Here is the link to the column if you did not see it:

We had a wine and cheese new members meeting in the building of Leona Young. It was certainly a wonderful night as we got to know our newest members and they had a chance to understand TTN a little better. We look forward to many wonderful shared experiences and opportunities to gain more knowledge as we navigate through this stage in our lives.

We reached our 100 "Likes" goal in August. Actually we topped it. A new goal is to reach 200 "Likes" by the end of the year. It is a pleasure to see more and more interest being paid to our Facebook page and the resulting interaction. Please encourage your Facebook friends to Like us. "Liking" our page is one way to find out what is going on in our chapter and to make sure your friends know what you are doing as a member of TTN. Choose "Invite Friends", and invite as many as you like. This is a busy year for Atlanta TTN so don't miss out on all of the new activities and interesting news posted to our Facebook page. If you have information you'd like to share please reach out to

That is a way of increasing viewership and possibly recruiting new members. Any post, article or event of interest please let Gail know!

Peer Group Updates
The intention of these groups is for women to share and learn from each other. While the groups are meant to create a supportive environment, be aware that any member of TTN can go to any Peer Group meeting or all Peer Group meetings with the exception of Cobb and ITP I. We have them set up by location to make it easier for you to attend one closer to your home. Contact the person listed under each group and let them know you will attend.

erimeter) Peer Group I

ITP (Inside The Perimeter) Peer Group II
Because of our new membership and many of them living in the Atlanta (closer to downtown) area we realized another Peer Group is needed. This group will consist of members who are new to TTN and live closer to Atlanta, and DeKalb County.
Laura Greenberg will coordinate this group. The first kick-off meeting will be Wednesday, October 3rd, 6:00 PM. Please contact her at [email protected], let her know if you can attend and get the address of the location.
This Peer Group is closed, meaning the members attending will be the only ones to attend future meetings. This group meets once a quarter.
Perimeter Peer Group
Dorothy Carrillo is actively getting items in order to begin this Peer Group. It is open to those in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area and new members in the area.
We are excited that this new group will meet on Wednesday,
September 5th at 7:00 PM
at the home of Dorothy Carrillo.
New Gwinnett Peer Group
Due to our growing membership north of Atlanta, a new peer group is being formed for the Gwinnett area (eg. Duluth, Lawrenceville, Grayson, Snellville, Peachtree Corners and nearby areas)!
If you are interested in participating, please let Peggy Bartolotta know at
[email protected]
. Both Peggy and Lori Johnston will chair this group.

TTN - Staying Active III
Tennis can be a great workout and lots of fun. Playing tennis has many health benefits including:
increasing aerobic capacities, lowering resting heart rate and blood pressure, improving metabolic function, increasing bone density, lowering body fat, improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility, increasing reaction times
Better Health Channel - website
We will feature a TTN member in the upcoming issues who are fighting the good aging fight.
Peggy Bartolotta
I've been playing on and off about 10 years. Since moving to Atlanta 5 years ago, I play on several teams in my league and now average playing 2-3 times/week between matches and clinic.
I prefer singles matches for the exercise, but mostly play doubles due to the team structure and have a wonderful partner who makes me a better player!
Aside from the endorphin release from playing, tennis increases core strength, circulation, lung capacity, energy, even brain power when you have to strategize and concentrate on ball placement. It's also a great way to socialize in a relaxed environment.
