Domesday is Friday, August 31, 12:30 Release

Domesday is when our six student Houses gather for the first time in the school year and welcome their new members. First-year students will learn their House assignments and participate in House activities to get to know their fellow members across grade levels.

Dress code on Domesday is the same as usual, except that students may also wear House t-shirts, tucked in, if they wish. This year's House shirts will be available shortly - stay tuned!

This Friday: Senior Deadline

This Friday, August 31st is the deadline for seniors to complete:

Requests in Naviance for teacher recommendations
Submission of the 2018 Counselor/Teacher recommendation form to their counselors

Completion of these deadlines will ensure your college application materials arrive at your colleges on time.

This Year's Seminar Series

"Keep your face always toward the sunshine - and shadows will fall behind you."

So said Walt Whitman, and so we begin the series of community seminars! Join Mr. Winebrenner on Wednesday, September 5th, at 6:00 PM, for a lively reading and discussion of some of Whitman's poetry, both iconic and lesser-known. Those who sign up with be emailed a copy of the poems, in case you wish to read them in advance.

If you can't attend on the 5th, look for others in this series on the first Wednesday of each month - and a discount if you sign up for the series.

Upcoming Campus Drills

Throughout the school year, Veritas Prep will be practicing emergency procedures through fire and lock-down drills. Our teachers take care to prepare their classes with the proper procedures, but if your child is particularly sensitive to these situations, please talk with them, and feel free to reach out to us with questions.

Volunteers Needed! Front Office Assistance

Our hard-working front office team would really appreciate some additional help from our parent community. Particularly, they are hoping to find a weekly volunteer who can be work regularly with them on phones, greeting, and mailing. Email Paula Clemmer if you can help!

Drama Help Needed

Looking to use some creativity to help our community? The Drama Department is looking (desperately!) for volunteers to help with costume alterations and set design/building for both curricular and extra-curricular shows. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Lindsay or Ms. Vogel.
