NVCT Conserves Iconic Stafford Farm Along The Rappahannock
We're excited to announce the protection of more than 200 acres of land on the banks of the Rappahannock River in Stafford County! This site has incredible agricultural, biological, and historical significance and we're proud to be its steward for all time.
The beautiful scenery, delicious hors d'oeuvres and wonderful company make "An Evening In The Garden" the place to be on March 19th. Don't miss out on all the fun and festivities.
Heirs Property Bill Passes
General Assembly
NVCT’s biggest legislative priority of this General Assembly session, the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act, has passed unanimously and is headed to Governor Northam’s desk for signature.
The bill ensures the rights and due process of landowners who have had properties passed down to them through generations without a will or an estate. Never again will low income Virginians with family farms and valuable property be taken advantage of because they cannot afford or don’t have access to legal services that would protect their inherited land.
Two of our staff recently gathered with other Northern Virginia environmental stake holders at the Fourth Annual Plant Nova Natives Partnership Campaign meeting.
With a focus on land stewardship and social/digital media outreach, we truly believe in this partnership.
The Plant Nova Natives Campaign is very close to our hearts here at NVCT. For more on their work head to their website .
Executive Director Alan Rowsome joined Prince William County Supervisor Yesli Vega and the Prince William Conservation Alliance in Nokesville on Feb 20, 2020 to lead a landowner workshop with local residents.
The group discussed why conservation easements are a good fit for homeowners in our region.
