"May I have your attention, please?" the airline attendant said as he gave the standard flying instructions. Those passengers used to hearing these instructions seemed to tune him out. As he ended his spiel I poked my head out in the aisle and gave him a thumbs up. "Mr. Attendant" responded happily appreciating my unspoken approval of his well-done job. It's amazing how we can communicate encouragement along the way even without a word! When we reached our destination, I followed my daughter, Starlie, off the plane but stopped to thank him for a great flight. To keep the line moving, I gave him a quick hug and caught up with Starlie. During our layover we ran into Mr. Attendant and the gal he was training on our flight. When he saw me, he came over and gave me a hug and began to chat! Not knowing that I had made acquaintance with him earlier Starlie was wondering why he was hugging on her Mom! As we walked away, she said, "They sure have gotten friendlier when you fly!"
I love traveling and sharing God's love along the way! I look for individuals to encourage and see how I can make their day better! It's bringing Heaven to Earth! We are the conduit, the channel, the gateway many need!
Because we have experienced life in Christ, we have become new in Him. Jesus became the gateway, the conduit for us to know God the Father! Once we have experienced His life, then we by experience, become His ambassadors to bring others to Him! What an honor! The love of God can flow through us to others as we connect Heaven and Earth.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 puts it this way: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."
How do we do that? verse 21 says, "God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God." Jesus takes our sin in exchange for His righteousness! Wow! As others experience His kindness and love we become "God magnets" so that they, too, can come into relationship with Him! He's inviting us to fly the friendly skies and live in a higher realm! It's a realm where we love instead of judge. It's a place where we choose to not be offended but instead to give the other the benefit of the doubt. And He uses our personalities and gifting! We each represent a unique facet of Heaven. You may not be a "hugger" like I am, but you can show His love in your own way! Let's fly with Him over the problems and connect with His heartbeat for others!
Be sure to read the Torah portions below that Jesus read during this time in history! There is always something that relates to us in our place in history now! That's so amazing to me!
