November 2019
Giving Tuesday

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, which presents the chance to support ANAC's important work before the end of the year.

Last year we raised $5,000 which helped support the work of our staff and committees; promote the values we share, including collaboration, diversity, scholarship and research; and provide support for the nursing workforce.

Please help us reach that goal again this year. You can donate via the ANAC Facebook or directly on the donations page on our website . Thank you for you continued support!

Editorial by ANAC members discusses nurses' essential contributions to fighting HIV
ANAC members Jacqueline Nikpour and Michael Relf wrote an editorial that was recently published in The Hill.

The piece, " Can ending the HIV epidemic be achieved without nurses?",  highlights  nurse-led programs that address the stigma and the social determinants related to HIV and argues that these programs are essential to truly ending the epidemic.

PEPFAR releases two progress reports
Two reports were released by PEPFAR in advance of World AIDS Day, showing tremendous progress in the global response to HIV/AIDS.

The PEPFAR Latest Global Results report summarizes how PEPFAR has saved over 18 million lives through accountable, transparent and cost-effective investments.

A second report covers the remarkable progress of the DREAMS program, which was designed to reduce new HIV infections in girls and young women in targeted African countries. The report shows that nearly all DREAMS regions have had a 25% or greater decline in new HIV diagnoses among adolescent girls and young women.
