Family Bird Walk

Kane County Audubon is gathering a 'flock' and heading outside. Enjoy a fall stroll in the woods to meet some feathered friends who call Hickory Knolls home. Strollers will be difficult for this moderate trail exploration.
Pumpkin Painting Party

It all started with a tiny seed in the spring and now we are ready to decorate and celebrate. Make a pumpkin masterpiece to take home and start the Halloween season in style. Adults are free. Please register all participating children.
PJ Party with the Critters

Tales with Tails- Campfire Fun

Come dressed in your coziest PJ's. The Hickory Knolls critters have told the staff their favorite bedtime stories and they can't wait for you to enjoy the tales. End the night with something even better than cookies and milk...s'mores!
Stargazing

View the galaxy from your neck of the woods. The sun goes down by 7:40 and the views just begin. Bring your own telescope or share a peak through a volunteer's scope. Help will be on hand to help you learn how to use your telescope if needed.

Zombie Survival

Up for a challenge? Try your hand at shelter building, fire starting and finding your way with a compass to see if you have the skills to survive an apocalypse. Come prepared to be outside and dress for the weather. See if you can outsmart the undead! Camp starts in the building.
Learn Your Birds: Hello Juncos!

As the seasons change, many birds head south in search of the food sources they favor. Just as we say goodbye to species like swallows and chimney swifts, we say hello to birds like dark-eyed juncos, which migrate to our area each fall. Join expert birders from Kane County Audubon and search for other winter visitors too.
