City of Huntington Beach Human Relations Task Force Vacancy. The City of Huntington Beach would like to announce a vacancy on its Human Relations Task Force. This volunteer position is appointed by the City Council. Applicants must be citizens and residents of Huntington Beach and be available to attend regular meetings on the first Tuesday evening of each month.  Applications may be downloaded from the City’s website at:  http ://h untingtonbeachca.gov/government/boards_commissions/

The mission of the Huntington Beach Human Relations Task Force is to promote and celebrate diversity in our community through education and understanding. The Task Force works towards achieving its mission by sponsoring annual community events, working with local schools, and other programs.

Volunteers needed for upcoming World Championships - 2018 VISSLA ISA Junior Surfing Championship Host Committee. We invite you to be part of a new chapter in the surfing history of Huntington Beach. Surf City USA is the Host City for the 2018 VISSLA International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Surfing Championship, October 27 - November 4, 2018, and we need volunteers!
Over 350 surfers, ages 18 and younger, from over 40 countries will take part in this once in a lifetime opportunity. There are several ways for local parents, our youth and anyone who loves surfing or volunteering to play a fun role in this historically awesome event.
From helping stuff bags to being part of the opening ceremonies and parade to lending a hand at the competition site during the nine days of the Championship, there are may ways you can help. Sign up and become a volunteer at https://www.usasurfing.org/volunteer.html and find a variety of opportunities listed, as well as task descriptions that spell out what is expected. Simply sign up and we will be touch. Plus, volunteers will receive a t-shirt, hat and other surprises!
There will be a mandatory volunteer orientation meeting on Monday, October 22 from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Huntington Beach City Council building, 2000 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648. It’s the building where HB’s City Council holds their meetings. If you cannot make it, but still want to volunteer, please have a representative attend.
