Dear Residents -
It is hard to believe that this week marked the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 shutdown. Thinking it was only going to be for a few weeks, it is still hard for me to comprehend that it has been a year. It seems this is an appropriate time for us to pause, reflect and think about those that lost loved ones, jobs, businesses, school memories and much more. As a Town, while still apart, we must remember them all.
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The vaccine eligibility requirements are continuously being expanded, the vaccine is (finally) becoming readily available, and President Biden has directed every state to open up vaccines to all adults by May 1, 2021. While we still do not know exactly what life after COVID is going to look like, I am certainly looking forward to finding out.
IMPORTANT VACCINE INFORMATION: Appointments at the Rockland County Department of Health (RCDOH) vaccine clinics during the week of March 15 – March 19, 2021, will be listed on the Rockland County Department of Health's COVID-19 webpage as well as on their Facebook and Twitter pages https://www.facebook.com/rockhealth and https://twitter.com/rockhealth. Going forward, any appointment at the RCDOH can be scheduled using links that will be regularly updated on the COVID-19 webpage. They encourage you to visit their webpage to search for any open appointments. Anyone who is eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination per the NYS phased distribution plan may register for an appointment at the Rockland County COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic located in Pomona, NY.
Not to be forgotten, this past Tuesday, March 9, 2021, the Town Board recognized March as Irish-American History month. While we still are not be able to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with our traditional parades, perhaps you can eat out (or take out) a few festive dinners to commemorate the season and help our local establishments.
And lastly, do not forget to turn your clock ahead at 2:00 AM Sunday, as we spring forward for Daylight Saving Time!
Regards,
