Christmas Lessons and Carols, Modified Service Schedule This Sunday
A Service of Christmas Lessons and Carols with the Holy Eucharist will take place this Sunday, December 22. Music will be of Philip Stopford, John Tavener, and Benjamin Britten. This service takes the place of our usual 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. services (the 8:00 a.m. service will take place as usual). A special Holy Hospitality reception will follow.

Adult Enquirers Class Begins in February
Frs. Connelly and Cannon will be co-teaching the Adult Enquirers Class beginning Sunday, February 8.  The class will prepare participants for adult Baptism, Confirmation, Reception, or Reaffirmation and will meet most Sundays from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. with lunch included.  More details to follow . . .

Fellowship and Events
Moms Meet Up Tomorrow: New Location
The Moms Meet Up group will meet tomorrow, Thursday, December 19 , at 8:45 a.m. at Sarah Bricklemyer's home (3207 West Palmira Avenue). This will be a fun Christmas celebration complete with yummy treats! They will still have their regular Nooma lesson. This month's topic will be the lure of "busy-ness," and how we can strive to prioritize the things that we truly care about. The group will watch  Shells  from the Nooma video series.  Click here for a preview. They  hope that everyone can join them!

Candle and Flowers Available
The candle in the Sanctuary Light is available for Sunday, January 5, and  Sunday, February 9, and the f lowers at the Church Altar are available for Sunday, January 12. If you would like to take one of these opportunities to honor a loved one and support St. John's, contact us.

Pageant Prep!

These little cuties were hard at work this past weekend, getting ready for the annual Christmas Eve Pageant! Catch this once a year tradition at 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve in the church!
Sunday School News
Christmas Pageant participants! Our final practice before Christmas Eve is this Thursday, December 19 from 4 to 6:00 p.m. in the church and Parish Hall. This will be a dress rehearsal, and we will have a special pizza dinner for the kids. Thanks to Mary Ellen Collins for providing food! EYC News
EYC Holiday Schedule
EYC will take a holiday break on December 22 and 29, and will resume on Sunday, January 5 with a combined 2020 Kickoff Game Night in Discovery House for 6th through 12th graders!

We want to provide support during your time of need. However, because health regulations prohibit the clergy from being informed when our parishioners are in the hospital, we will not know if you or someone you love is there unless you tell us. We want to provide support in any time of need or crisis. Please call the parish offices at 259.1570 or  click here to email us to let us know when you need us.

Men's Thursday Bible Study and Lunch, 11:45 a.m., Lowry Room
The Men's Thursday Bible study will meet on Thursday at 11:45 a.m. The group comes together weekly for fellowship and to study the readings for the coming Sunday.  Feel free to bring your lunch. 

The group will not meet next week, December 26, but will resume on Thursday, January 2.

This service takes the place of the 9:15 and 11:15 a.m. services. 
Lessons are:
Genesis 3:8-15  -  God announces in the Garden of Eden that the seed of a woman shall bruise the serpent's head.
Luke 2:1-7  -  Saint Luke tells of the birth of Jesus.
Luke 2:8-16  -  The shepherds go to the manger.
Matthew 2:1-11  -  The wise men are led by the star to Jesus.
John 1:1-14  -  Saint John unfolds the mystery of the incarnation.

Sunday Adult Christian Formation, No Meeting this Week

Contemporary Women's Bible Study, No Meeting This Week or Next
CWBS meets on Tuesdays at 6:45 a.m. in the Lowry Room. The group will take a holiday break on December 24 and 31, resuming on January 7.

Wednesday Nights in St. John's, No Meeting
The Wednesday Nights Group will take a holiday break on December 25 and January 1, but will resume on January 8.

The group meets each week on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a shared potluck supper followed by fellowship, a video, and discussion of our faith. Contact Paul and Winkie Game with questions at pgamefla@aol.com.
