Despite some financial impacts that arose due to the pandemic, the Budgets were successfully balanced and provide sufficient resources to accomplish several of the Village's objectives. Included are funds for capital projects such as the N. Krueger Road reconstruction, the Robert Parker Coffin Pathway and the Stempel Parking Lot rebuilding and resurfacing.
New Village Budgeting
Software Approved
The Village approved an agreement with ClearGov to provide a cloud-based budgeting service to improve the Village's current budgeting process. The software is customized for local government budget-building and will increase internal and external transparency, accuracy and clarity. Once setup is complete, residents can visit the Village website to view budget details, graphs, and trends, and drill down for a customized experience. Updates on when the service will go live will be provided in future communications. Photo credit: ClearGov.
Village Urges Fire Safety Precautions
Due to the abnormally dry conditions, homeowners are reminded to use extra caution when starting any type of fire, even when burning items in a fire pit on your patio or other area on your property. If you plan to burn, you must contact your fire protection district, either Countryside (CFPD) at 847-367-5511, or Long Grove (LGFPD) at 847-634-3143, extension 2520. Permission is required for all outdoor fires, including the burning of twigs, branches and small logs, and fires must be no closer than 50 feet from any structure. The burning of leaves or grass clippings is not permitted. Please check this map to confirm which fire protection district you live in. Safety guidelines and 'Burning Dos and Don'ts' are available on the CFPD and LGFPD websites.
