Hi all

Happy holidays to all and welcome to those who are receiving this newsletter for the first time. I want to wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday season and new year and encourage you to make this the year of giving, which means presenting others with not simply material presents, but giving of your time, and especially tolerance and compassion. It is so disturbing to see so much hatred and fear on the increase, and hope this year will bring more understanding. And please remember to always have a designated driver on hand if you go to a party and have a few drinks.

Thank you all for bearing with me once again for the lateness of this issue. December is always such a busy month and I am already working on the newsletter for the new year.  As you know I presented my annual Year Ahead workshop on the 8th and I thank all of you who came and signed up. I had a record 60-plus people and I so appreciate your support. Information on ordering is below. And yes I am still working on a monthly podcast for the new year, and no, I have not yet capitulated about a youtube channel. But one never knows!

As I write this I heard that Ram Dass passed away on December 22nd, the day of the Winter Solstice, when the northern hemisphere has the least amount of daylight. He was a personal hero of mine for over 45 years starting with when I went to school at the University of New Mexico and discovered the Lama Foundation commune near Taos NM, and the book he co-wrote with them titled Be Here Now. I once took a workshop with him and it was one of the most amazing experiences I ever had with another person as my partner i that workshop. The story of Ram Dass's life life and spiritual awakening is inspiring and do yourself a favor by either reading a book, listening to a recording, or view one of his DVD's or most important the documentary about him, which came out in the last few years. Travel well Ram Dass.

Scroll down for information about the upcoming eclipse on December 26 (GMT), which occurs in tropical Capricorn/sidereal (Vedic) Sagittarius. There will be even more about this as we move into the New Year, since the effects of this eclipse will be powerful through the end of March, and it is only the front bookend of eclipse season, which runs through January 10 when we welcome the Lunar Eclipse. Information about the eclipses are part of the 2020 Sensitive Degrees Workshop I presented in the beginning of December. You can scroll down for information on how you can order it.  In that workshop I talk about the Sun combusting Jupiter (which it is all week) and the combustion of it during the eclipse this week that portends the passing and waning of Jupiterian figures from spiritual leaders to political ones. Since eclipses often signal the births and deaths of "kings" I would have to put Ram Dass into that category.

In the meantime I appeared on Sheri Horn Hasan's radio show on Thursday December 19 and spoke a lot about the eclipses and the upcoming Pluto conjunctions with Jupiter and Saturn. You can listen to the podcast it and other of Sheri's shows at Astrologically SpeakingIn that talk and in the eclipse segment of my  will be speaking about those upcoming eclipses, hints about the year ahead,  and other things that may come up.

If you wish to book a reading, you can make payment to the left and I will reach out to you with available dates and times. My availability begins  January 7.

If you wish to purchase recordings from the Sedona Vedic Astrology Conference there is a 15 % sale through December 31 at Sun Recordings. Use coupon code Save15. All Indian astrology classes will start in the new year. I am available for private lessons, and for review if you have studied with me. I have a list of those of you who want to start studying Indian astrology so please continue to let me know.  Ask about individual tutoring, especially towards ACVA certification.

Also remember that you can get notices from me through Twitter Facebook or Instagram. Just sign up. And if your friends which to subscribe to this newsletter they can go to my Website and sign up. You can also get up to date information about workshops, appearances, etc., I hope to have that site updated in the new year.

And please remember that by staying subscribed to this newsletter, in addition to monthly newsletters about planetary weather, you will also get separate newsletters about horoscope sales, classes, webinars, etc., so if you are not interested in learning astrology, but do want to read the news each month, please do not unsubscribe, just delete the advertisements when they arrive.

All good wishes

December 26 Eclipse

Annular Solar Eclipse. December 26, 2019. 5:13 am  GMT.
Tropical. 4° Capricorn 06'. Sidereal (Vedic). 10° Sagittarius 04'. mula nakshatra

The major event this month is the Annular Solar Eclipse (New Moon) which takes place on December 26, 2019 at 5:13 am GMT, which means it is also exact on Christmas Day in the United States in time zones other than Eastern time zone. Tropically the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, South
Node, Saturn and Pluto are all in Capricorn. Sidereally Mercury, Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Ketu, Saturn and Pluto are all in Sagittarius. Most important is that the planets are in one section of the zodiac, putting a lot of emphasis and stress on the house that it occupies.

Because this eclipse  is "annular," which is similar to a total eclipse, it means that the Nodes of the Moon are very close to the eclipse degree.  Because  of  that  closeness  the South Node (Ketu) conjoins the solar eclipse degree on March 22 nd which follows Mars conjoining that degree on February 22 nd . This means that the span of the eclipse could be seen as ranging from December 26 through the end of March. Eclipses  in  general  bring secrets out of the woodwork and force you to pay attention to things that may have been hidden or that you do not want to deal with. When the eclipse span is short then it is intense, so do not be surprised if you will be dealing with things finally and resolving them that arose in the past two years especially in 2019 when the Nodes moved towards Saturn in tropical Capricorn, and sidereal (Vedic) Sagittarius. The good news as I say below is that Jupiter has entered that sign, providing a ray of hope to where those planets are situated. Even though the span of a week before and after Feb. 22 and a week before and after March 22 may be explosive in the world, you must also in your own  pay attention to the house it falls in but with Jupiter there you may have things that have to worked on between now and March 22. These are areas of your life that you have in fact been working on the past few years, but this eclipse will bring them to a head with the good news that Jupiter is there to give you some resolution and results. Please scroll down to see where the eclipse and Jupiter fall in your chart.

Look to see if you have planets, points, or angles between 3-5 degrees of the Cardinal tropical signs (Capricorn, Cancer, Libra Aries), or between 9-11 degrees of the dual Sidereal (Vedic) signs (Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces, Virgo). But of course most important is the sign of tropical Capricorn/sidereal Sagittarius, because that is where the Nodes, Saturn, and Pluto have travelled this past year, and where Jupiter, the great benefic will pass over in the next few months. Even if you do not have planets therethe house where that sign is located continues to be activated and especially with a bang due to the eclipse, Mars, and the South Node (Ketu) over that point.

The  other  interesting  fact  about  this  eclipse,  is  that  Jupiter  is  tightly  conjunct  the  Sun,  or  as  they  say  in  classical  Western  and  Vedic  astrology, combust the Sun. Whereas in your chart, you will get the influence of Jupiter along with the Sun, which is good, the world experiences the fact that the Sun combusts, occludes, or obstructs the  benefic  aspects  of  Jupiter, which provides expansion, growth, opportunity, and general well-being. Yes, we know that the ancients did not like eclipses at all, but there were specific things to note when planets were  combust  the  eclipse  degree, and on the December 20 Jupiter and the Sun were exactly conjunct or combust, and on the day of the eclipse, Jupiter is a degree past the eclipse degree so it is moving away, but it is still combust, meaning you cannot see Jupiter in the sky because the Sun is so close. This is what Varahamihira, the revered Indian astronomer, astrologer, and mathematician said in his text Brhat Samhita about Jupiter conjoining the solar eclipse degree: "Jupiter conjoining eclipse will cause destruction of the learned, kings, ministers, elephants and horses."

The combustion of Jupiter plus the fact that Jupiter conjoins Pluto three times in 2020 indicates that there will be many power struggles in the world, and great changes in governments, heads of states, spiritual leaders, and maybe even changing the map and borders of some countries. As we speak there is already unrest in Hong Kong, Lebanon, India, Chile, and I think this will get worse before it gets better. There is Brexit occurring, Trump being impeached, and I wonder if Ram Dass passing away while Jupiter is combust the Sun has occurs due to the eclipse and combustion.

Also in the past two weeks there were apparently 80 horses and 100 horses missing in Iceland due to extreme weather conditions. In the past year there have been horses dying at American race tracks and maybe due to the eclipse we will find out the answer to this mystery. Who knows.

We can all just do what we always do this time of year. Pray and send positive thoughts and prayers to everyone close to us and to everyone in the world. In the newsletters to come I will be speaking about the gathering of Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, and the Nodes all in that one sign.

Jupiter changed signs

On November 4th Jupiter went into the sidereal sign of Sagittarius, and on December 2nd it went into the tropical sign of Capricorn. Regardless which zodiac you use, the important thing to remember is that Jupiter travels through a sign every 13 months, and due to that journey it will be entering a different sphere with a different influence, and while it may seem as if the two zodiacs completely contradict each other since Jupiter in sidereal Sagittarius, is in the sign it rules, and when Jupiter enters Capricorn it is in the sign of its debilitation. For me what is most important is that Jupiter is catching up to Saturn, and as it moves closer to Saturn it will eventually be conjoining that planet in December 2020 at which time Jupiter will move ahead of Saturn rather than behind it, as it is now. the planets that Jupiter conjoin will be the same regardless of the sign it is in. However read below for the zodiac that you use, since it will show you the area of your chart that will benefit from Jupiter's passing through it, since that is where Saturn went through over the last two and a half years. It is not always the case that Jupiter and Saturn change signs in the same year, so no matter which zodiac you use, Jupiter will be providing healing and expansion in an area which may have left your frustrated over the last year.

If you are using the tropical western zodiac, look in which house Capricorn resides. Jupiter has entered Capricorn on December 2nd, and in the new year should start to give you some relief and even expansion and opportunity in that area that may have caused much stress and very hard work over the last two years.  For those who are new to astrology scroll down to see which house will be affected from the position of your Ascendant or Sun sign.

If you are using the Sidereal (Vedic) western zodiac, look in which house Capricorn resides. Jupiter has entered Capricorn on December 2nd, and in the new year should start to give you some relief and even expansion and opportunity in that area that may have caused much stress and very hard work over the last two years.  For those who are new to astrology below scroll down to see which house will be affected from the position of your Ascendant or Sun sign.
Where do sidereal Sagittarius and tropical Capricorn fall?

Please read for the astrology you use.

If you practice Sidereal (Vedic) Astrology, look at which house Sagittarius affects in your chart. Jupiter has entered Sagittarius where Saturn and the present December 26 eclipse fall.  This area of your chart will be most important until Saturn leaves Sagittarius and enters Capricorn January 23. You will be clearing out things that have been stressful the last few years and hopefully finding resolution in that area of your chart.

The following houses where Sagittarius is located are affected if your Ascendant or Moon are one of the following signs.

If you practice Tropical (Western) Astrology, look at which house Capricorn affects in your chart. Jupiter has entered Capricorn where Saturn and the present December 26 eclipse fall. This area of your chart will be most important until Saturn leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius on March 22. (Of course it will then leave Aquarius and re-enter Capricorn from  July 1-Dec. 17, 2020 so some of your issues will be revisited but with Jupiter's influence should be far easier to resolve).
You will be clearing out things that have been stressful the last few years and hopefully finding resolution in that area of your chart.

The following houses  where Capricorn is located are  affected if your Ascendant or Sun   are one of the following signs. (Remember this is a general whole sign house system and if you are more sophisticated with your astrology you may work with unequal houses and can pinpoint more specifically. However these whole sign house systems still work.)

Aries.  10 th  house. Taurus. 9 th house. Gemini. 8 th house. Cancer. 7 th house. Leo. 6 th house. Virgo. 5 th house. Libra. 4 th house. Scorpio. 3 rd house. Sagittarius. 2 nd house. Capricorn. 1 st house. Aquarius. 12 th  house.  Pisces. 11 th  house.

I will once again provide a separate recording and handout explaining the technical and theoretical basis for things like eclipses and retrogrades, since many of you have already heard this. Instead we will dive straight into the lunations, eclipses, retrogrades, aspects, and ingresses. Some (but not all) planetary signatures we will cover are as follows:
  • Lunations (New and Full Moons)
  • Seven eclipses.  There are six eclipses in the calendar year of 2020, but since the one on December 26 is part of the pair that includes the one on January 10, we will actually look at seven of them as follows:
           Dec. 26, 2019. Solar Eclipse/Jan. 10, 2020 Lunar Eclipse.

June 5, 2020 Lunar Eclipse, June 21, 2020 Solar Eclipse,
           July 5, 2020 Lunar Eclipse

Nov. 30, 2020 Lunar eclipse, Dec. 14, 2020 Solar Eclipse
All the eclipses are part of the 18 year Saros cycle, and, except for the one on January 5 (6), part of the 19 year Metonic cycle.
  • Planetary Stations.  Annual retrograde cycles of Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Venus and Mars retrograde this year. Mars will be in tropical Aries for six months. Whew!. and it will straddle between sidereal Pisces and Aries for eight months. That is because of the retrograde Mars. On Election Day 2020 when we vote for US President, Mercury stations direct, exactly what it did on Election Day 2000 when there was no decision in Bush v. Gore. What makes this election mo
  • Aspects. Some of the more important aspects for 2020 are as follows.
  • Jan. 8, 2020. Jupiter-Ketu (South Node) conjunction
  • Jan. 12, 2020. Saturn-Pluto conjunction.
  • Feb. 25, 2020. Mars-South Node (Ketu) conjunction.
  • April 5, June 30, Nov. 12, 2020. Jupiter-Pluto conjunction.
  • Dec. 21, 2020. Jupiter-Saturn conjunction.
  • Tropical Ingresses. Jupiter will be in Capricorn and Aquarius. Saturn moves into Aquarius. The Nodes move into Gemini and Sagittarius.
  • Sidereal Ingresses. Jupiter will be in Sagittarius and Capricorn. Saturn moves into Capricorn. Pluto enters Capricorn. The Nodes move into Taurus and Scorpio.
  • We will go over how these planetary signatures affect each Ascendant.
    •
