January 14, 2020
9am – 12:30 pm MT

Join Current Federal Tax Developments website author Ed Zollars, CPA for a deep dive into Congress’s holiday gift (including some lumps of coal) for taxpayers.
At the end of 2019 Congress added a number of tax provisions to the appropriations bill, with some provisions having retroactive effect back into 2018. The major items are found in the Setting Every Community up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019 (SECURE Act) that was included in full in the bill, provisions the House had overwhelmingly approved this past summer. As well, the law brings a number of extenders as well as some minor changes. What didn’t make the cut, though, were most Tax Cuts and Jobs Act technical corrections. Specifically missing from the bill is any fix for the “retail glitch.”

Those attending this session will get a PDF manual containing an analysis of the bill as part of the session in addition to a PDF of PowerPoint slides, giving those attending a basic reference to the law that will be useful after the session.
The Reporting Year Ends in 8 Days.
