Welcome new citizens!
On December 5 the town, in partnership with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, hosted a citizenship ceremony at Town Hall.

The ceremony welcomed 38 individuals from 24 different countries as they made the life-changing decision to take the Oath of Citizenship and become Canadian citizens.

We congratulate them on this incredible milestone!

Each year, people from around the globe choose Oakville as their new home. The town plays a key role in supporting new residents through a variety of recreation, transit, library and other services, and through ongoing partnerships with community agencies.

Council set to vote on the 2020 Budget

Each year the town's annual budget is one of the most important tasks facing Town Council. On December 10, the Budget Committee recommended a budget that sees an overall property tax increase of two per cent, which is in line with inflation. After a thorough review process with budget meetings, public feedback and committee deliberations the 2020 Budget is going to Council for approval on December 16.
