Back-to-School Season at Clothes To Kids
This year's back-to-school shopping season has felt pretty different than any we've experienced in our 12-year history. Although social distancing, increased appointment spacing and Curbside Service have made our shop a bit quieter than usual, it is obvious that the need in our community is greater than ever. Over the past four months, we have seen hundreds of families who are visiting us for the first time following the crisis brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Families need our help NOW more than ever. Luckily, our supporters are rising to the occasion! In the mail last week, we received this lovely note from two of our long-time donors:

Please accept this donation and know that your work is appreciated. Even if school is in flux for the fall, we know that kids will still outgrow their clothes! We sincerely hope that this donation helps you continue your service to the community, especially at this difficult time for all of us.

-Best Wishes, Howard and Kathie
Your support allows us to continue to provide essential clothing support for families. Back-to-school shopping provides our students with a sense of security and normalcy during this challenging time. Make a One-Time or Monthly gift or sign up for Round-Up giving by registering your debit/credit card. However you choose to give, please know that it makes a BIG difference to our shoppers. Thank you!
Thank You

New Hours for Back-to-School

With summer almost over, we have resumed our regular Tuesday-Saturday schedule:

Tuesday-Friday
9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Saturday
9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Sunday & Monday
Closed
Donations Accepted Fridays & Saturdays
We are now accepting clothing donations on Fridays and Saturdays only between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. We are in need of the basic wardrobe staples (shorts, pants, tops, shoes, etc.). We still cannot accept "extras" at this time.

  • Gather your clean and ready-to-wear items. Check our updated Donation Guidelines for ideas. Please sort items by category (girls, boys, young women, young men and shoes) to save time at drop-off.
  • When you arrive, pull into our loading zone and wait in your car until any staff members or other donors are at a safe distance.
  • Empty your donations into one of our rolling bins that will be located outside of our door. Please do not leave donations inside of plastic bags. Place your donations in our bins and take your bags with you to reuse.
Clothes To Kids of Denver on the Air
One of our ongoing goals is to get the word out about our services. That's why we are so grateful for the continued support of Escuelas Publicas De Denver Radio (EDUCA), AM 1090. EDUCA Radio recently recorded a podcast with our Program Coordinator, Rosy Arnold, where she had the opportunity to talk about the students we serve and the difference we can make in their academic success by providing them with appropriate clothing. Sharing the Love

After noticing a shortage of short-sleeved T-shirts, Michelle and her daughter Meredith went out and made a huge purchase from Old Navy.

Last month, we received an incredible donation of new Janie and Jack brand clothing that our nonprofit partner WeeCycle shared with us. All of the items were so cute and perfect for our summer shoppers.

Thank you to our friends at Next Day Valet Dry Cleaning for holding their annual Back-to-School clothing drive. Each summer since 2013, owners Marsha and Allan have collected donations and professionally cleaned each piece before personally delivering everything to our shop. This year they collected 1,917 items! This is an amazing company that we are proud to partner with.

Meet Lindsey! This terrific teen volunteer from Mullen High School has held an ongoing clothing drive for us in the Bow Mar neighborhood over the summer. She also completely reorganized our bra section to make it faster to re-stock and to help shoppers to find their size more easily. Lindsey purchased the bins herself and did the job from start to finish!

Ceiling down, lights up! The lighting and layout of our donation center is getting a much-needed update, thanks to our wonderful friends from RK, and our amazing volunteer demolition crew.

We are so grateful for the 100 pairs of brand new Sorel snow boots from our friends at the Denver Rescue Mission. Our volunteers really came through on this one. Marty picked them up, then Michelle and Linda unloaded and stored them.

Socks, socks and more socks! Our friends at Bombas just sent a donation of 75,000 pairs! It took Parke, Lawren, Michelle, Kai, Val and Lisa 4 hours (and a large cheese pizza) to unload the 300 box delivery.

Meet Avery! For her 9th birthday, she asked that her guests bring donations for CTKD shoppers instead of gifts. She brought in a whole cart load of donations!

Many thanks to Dianne Sawaya and the Law Offices of Dianne Sawaya LLC for the wonderful new shoes. Dianne brought them in celebration of her law firm’s 15 Days of Giving Project.

We can help with planning and will be featuring the efforts of our wonderful supporters throughout the event window.
