Over $5000 in Scholarships Available
Scholarships for High School Seniors and students in grades 7-12. The Lang Memorial Scholarship, and the Madge Rizza Scholarship for the Performing Arts, are awarded to High School seniors who are pursuing the arts. Deadline May 15th for Seniors and June 1st for others.

Hear Joy Harjo, US Poet Laureate
The NH Humanities Council presents a virtual evening of poetry and discussion with U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo.
In 2019, Joy Harjo was appointed the 23rd United States Poet Laureate and is the first Native American to hold the position. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harjo is an internationally renowned award-winning poet, writer, performer, and saxophone player of the Mvskoke/Creek Nation.

The Second Floor Gallery features the artists from the Art Café and their work inspired by Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass. The League of NH Craftsmen Fair is scheduled to proceed at Mount Sunapee from August 7th to the 15th this year! New Hampshire Teen Poet Laureate
The NH Teen Poet Laureate (NHTPL) is an honorary one-year position held by a NH high school student who has shown a dedication to and excellence in writing, and who demonstrates the enthusiasm to share it with the public.
The program is coordinated by the Poetry Society of New Hampshire in collaboration with the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.

Tomie dePaola Exhibit at the Currier Museum of Art
Tomie dePaola (1934–2020) wrote and illustrated some 270 children’s books over his 50-year career, including picture books, folk tales, nursery rhymes, and chapter books. A longtime resident of New Hampshire, he has received numerous awards and accolades.
The Currier Museum of Art’s collection holds more than 100 works by Tomie dePaola. This exhibition celebrates the artist’s life and legacy through a selection of these illustrations.

A new exhibition, The Body in Art: From the Spiritual to the Erotic, will explore the creative ways artists through the ages have used the human body as a means of expression.

Megan Baxter will be offering three writing classes/lessons - Writing the College Essay; Creative Writing Lessons for Ages 12-18; and Nonfiction Writing Workshop. Megan has won national awards in nonfiction and poetry. She has an MFA in Creative Nonfiction and a BFA in Poetry. Weekly Online Watercolor Classes at 10am
Each week is a stand-alone lesson, so sign up for one session or plan on attending each week to build your skills. The lessons will help beginners learn the basics, while engaging intermediate painters in ways that will develop their skills. Instructor Becky Bense has created a warm and welcoming class environment where all her students feel encouraged. $10 per session, or $35 for a four-class pass.
