Knightly News
March 29, 2021
Dear Parents:

School is going well, and our students are happy in our new home. We feel settled and grateful to be back in a routine. Our space allows for collaborative learning and plenty of hall space to spread out. Our Knights are happy, and that is all that matters.

Proud to be a Knight,
Marsha Cawthon
Principal
Intent to Return
The Intent to Return form for 2021-22 is now live. Please let us know your plans for next year by clicking on the button below and filling in the form. If you are planning to return to Trivium, filling in this form will hold your children's spot as long as they remain enrolled at Trivium through the remainder of the 2020-21 school year. Please complete this for each child who currently attends Trivium by Monday, April 5.

We hope that all of you are planning to return, but as a school of choice, we do understand that sometimes you need to make a different choice for your family. Even if you are not planning to return, we do ask that you fill in this form so that we know there will be a spot available for a student from the waiting list.
The Music Continues

For more than 30 years, March has been officially designated by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) as Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM), the time of year when music education becomes the focus of schools across the nation. The purpose of MIOSM is to raise awareness of the importance of music education for all children and remind citizens that school is where all children should have access to music. MIOSM is an opportunity for music teachers at Trivium to bring the music programs to the school and the community's attention, as well as display the benefits that school music brings to students of all ages. Music in Our School Month and the events surrounding it are ideal opportunities for increasing awareness of the benefits of high-quality music education programs at Trivium Academy.
Amid transitions, adjustments, and positive progressions, music education is very much alive at Trivium Academy. We are dedicated to the belief and theory of developing the whole child and recognize that music and the performing arts are vital to building capacity for continued growth in our students. From full performing ensembles to individual solos, our students are involved in a wide spectrum of music education. Our elementary music students are excelling at reading music and mastering complex beats and rhythms.  From our 6th grade singers who are learning a popular Japanese Folk Song to our Sophomore Percussion Ensemble, music education is alive and thriving in our students' lives at Trivium Academy.

Curriculum Corner
We're sure you have been hearing about how neat the new space is from your students! Teachers are making great use of extra wide hallways, collaborative spaces, and fun surroundings. One of my favorite parts is the windows into every classroom so we can see all the learning happening just by walking down the hall! Our teachers were intentional in their packing to make sure that they had all the materials they needed to implement engaging curriculum through the end of the year. Science labs, hands on learning, book clubs, and more are all still happening!
Secondary dance class practices in a common area
6th graders conduct a science lab
2nd graders enjoy their new classroom
3rd grade students spread out into the hallway to learn about perimeter
1st grade students learn about measurement with "non-standard" objects
Secondary students collaborate in study hall
