The first-ever Ohio River Discussion Series was recently held last month with over a hundred virtual attendees! This new monthly series will feature topics on clean water, ecosystem restoration, education, transportation, flood control, and recreation. The virtual discussions are sponsored and supported by the Ohio River Basin Alliance, The Ohio River Recreation Trail, ORSANCO, the National Park Service, and the Foundation for Ohio River Education. The Ohio River Basin Alliance has a New Plan
The Ohio River Basin Alliance recently released a new regional strategic plan in October 2020 to help more than 25 million residents in the Ohio River Basin tackle various environmental threats and economic needs such as inadequate river infrastructure, pollution, and flood control. Quarter Century ORSANCO Awards
Two ORSANCO staff members, Sam Dinkins and Tracey Edmonds, were recently recognized for 25 years of service at ORSANCO during the Commission’s February meeting. Sam is one of ORSANCO’s Technical Programs Managers and oversees all ORSANCO’s source water protection programs, emergency response, water quality modeling, and water resources initiatives. Sam is instrumental in overseeing the Organics Detection System and ORSANCO’s Harmful Algal Blooms activities. Tracey is ORSANCO’s Administrative Assistant and provides clerical support to staff as wells as logistics planning for Commission meetings. Congratulations, Sam and Tracey!
