Gershwin's Rhapsody - Why Blue?
It was Gershwin himself who said that Rhapsody in Blue was a reflection of the human race. A Kaleidoscope of color.
Is it coincidence that he chose “Blue?”
Siegfried Idyll: The Ballet

It's an almost unbearably beautiful instrumental piece that is tied forever to a famous love story. Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll conjures many images.

Ted Thomas, Director of the New England Dance Theater tells us how he conceived this work as a ballet.

SYMPHONY PEDIA
Rhapsody in Music: a free instrumental composition in one extended movement.
Episodic, free-flowing, in a range of highly contrasted moods, color and tonality. Like a spontaneous improvisation.
