NEW: Champions of Character Five-Star Award Winners Announced; New Scorecard Available awards 

Congratulations to the 171 Champions of Character Five-Star Institution winners. There were 74 gold winners, 62 silver winners and 35 bronze winners. NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Conference Awards were earned by 16 NAIA Conferences. Want to get started for 2018-2019? The new Scorecard is now available on NAIAHelp.    

 
NEW:  Tennis Championships Remain in 
Mobile, Ala.tennis

The NAIA has extended its agreement with the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala. as the host site for both men's and women's championships through 2023. 
 
NEW:  Welcome Scott Rarden scott 

Scott Rarden has been hired as the NAIA's new business intelligence director. Scott brings more than 15 years of technology experience and most recently worked at a publishing company where he led the digital product offerings group. He graduated from Friends University (Kan.) with a computer science degree.
 
NEW:  Southeastern University Baseball to Face Detroit Tigers library tigers

The 2018 NAIA Baseball National Champions of Southeastern University (Fla.) will take on the Detroit Tigers at Joker Marchant Stadium on Feb. 22, 2019 in the first game of the 2019 Spring Season training. 
 
 
NEW:  Help High Schools and Students with Portal Registration and Fee Waivers portal

With eligibility center high school fee waiver confirmations required through the high school portal, please disperse the  NAIA High School Portal Guide to high school contacts or students who need a fee waiver approved. The guide will help assist high schools with registration and high school portal use. The guide is also available in the High School Admins & Counselors section of the PlayNAIA website.

Men's Basketball All-Star Game Returnsallstar

The 2019 Men's Basketball All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday, March 26 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo. The event is in conjunction with the NAIA's 2019 DI Men's Basketball National Championship and will be played immediately prior to the championship final. All 2018-19 NAIA men's, senior basketball players, from both divisions I and II, are eligible to be nominated. For more information, contact Austin Bennett at 816.595.8109.

Stretch Internet Championship Pass stretch
 
For the second-consecutive year, the NAIA and official streaming partner Stretch Internet will be offering an NAIA Championship streaming pass for the 2018-19 season. For $100, fans can purchase a pass to watch any championship final site stream offered by the NAIA, excluding opening rounds. This price point provides significant savings for fans who want to watch multiple championships. 

 
New Fee Waiver Confirmation Method
Effective Oct. 1 fee 

A new provision in the Higher Education Act, as directed by federal interpretation, restricts a student's federal financial aid information from being shared with organizations such as the NAIA, regardless of the student issuing consent. The NAIA Eligibility Center has consulted with NASFAA to inform appropriate changes to how we accept fee waiver confirmations in response to the changes in federal regulation. As a result, the eligibility center will implement a new method for confirming fee waivers on Oct. 1, 2018 as outlined in the latest NAIA Membership Guide.
