come down to Metal Arts Village (3230 N Dodge Blvd) for an evening centering LGBTQ+ artistry and culture! Purchase artwork from local queer artists, catch drag performances, and peruse a wide array of goods and services offered by local queer vendors! Hungry or thirsty? Los Locos Tacos and Fat Noodle food trucks and the Hop Shop will be serving up delicious food and beverages for purchase! Artistic InQUEERies is free to attend

Are you curious about exploring sex toys for self-empowerment, but feel hesitant to buy something online or, perhaps, even more hesitant to visit a sex shop? In this workshop you'll get to educate yourself by seeing, touching, and learning about a wide range of toys for all bodies, in a non-binary, trans/intersex/queer-centric framework.
You'll also learn how to choose a lubricant, how to care for your toys, and how to practice safer sex when using toys with partners.
Bring your curiosity and leave informed and empowered to (literally) take your pleasure into your own hands.

Loving Our Queer Bodies: A Letter Writing Workshop with Kristen Nelson

In this workshop, we will use letter writing as a tool to honor and to celebrate our bodies. Our bodies, the vessels that carry us through our lives, can be complicated sites of stored judgement for LGBTQIA+ folxs. Our bodies and our presentations are so often judged harshly by ourselves and others. Bring your fat body, your non-binary body, your queer body, your femme body, your butch body, your trans body, your any body to this workshop. We will work together to confront past judgement and celebrate our bodies.

iLGBTS congratulates GRA Ruben Zecena, recently published in
WSQ: Women's Studies Quarterly
!
Ruben is a doctoral student in the department of Gender & Women's Studies and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Institute for LGBT Studies. His solo-authored piece, Migrating like a Queen: Visuality and Performance in the Trans Gay Caravan, has been featured in the newly released Fall/Winter 2019 issue of
Women's Studies Quarterly. The piece "focus[es] on the 2017 Trans Gay Caravan as a form of performative political intervention..." and "...proposes the concept "migrating like a queen" to shed light on how trans women and gay men forge fierce relationalities to survive the gendered and sexual violence of migration" (Zecena, 2019. p.99).

In this talk, NYC-based artist Kerry Downey will explore what it means to be a younger queer art educator seeking to address systemic oppression while encouraging
unlimited play and experimentation in the classroom. Weaving between their interdisciplinary art practice and community-based art education projects, Downey
will look at the ways queerness has inspired forms of radical self-determination and interdependence. They will explore questions like: How do you create spaces that feel safe enough for the vulnerability of self expression? What's really involved in the politics of inclusion? What does the work of a white person committed to antiracism and decolonization entail on a personal and practical level in their teaching?

those they serve. By the end of this presentation, you will be able to understand the acronym
LGBTQ2S accurately, appropriately identify
feelings & behaviors associated with the Coming Out process, define commonly used LGBTQ2S terminology and demonstrate positive "Ally" behavior.

Local actor and genderqueer playwright Martie van der Voort movingly plays transgender folks and their loved ones, in the setting of a support group.
TransFormations has been performed to acclaim both in Tucson and in cities around the nation, but this will be its first full run!
Produced in partnership with St. Francis Creative Arts Committee and directed by Tom Slauson.

is currently running on Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays (7:30pm) and Sundays (3:00pm) through November 17th. 5% of gross ticket sales will be donated to the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance (SAGA). Attendees are encouraged to dress to celebrate their diverse gender identities!

Now Accepting Applications: Annual Trans Surgery Fund from Point of Pride!
Deadline: November 30th 11:59 EST
Surgery is a life-changing experience for many trans folks, not only positively affecting our self-confidence and body image, but also our ability to live freely and authentically when out in public, at the workplace, and at school. Point of Pride's Annual Transgender Surgery Fund is a scholarship-like program that provides direct financial assistance to trans folks who cannot afford their gender-affirming surgery.
The Surgery Fund aims to connect as many recipients as possible with the care they urgently need to live authentic lives.
