Counselors' Connection

Seniors Bound for 4-Year Colleges

Students who accepted an offer of admission to a 4-year college should be aware that their final semester grades still count! Those who may earn D's or F's this semester should immediately contact the admissions office to learn whether the grade will impact their offer of admission. Colleges typically include provisions/conditions along with admission offers.

Also, Mills will send final transcripts to colleges in June, as long as students accurately complete the Senior Graduation Survey in Naviance. Students who have not yet paid for any transcripts this year will need to submit $5 to Mr. Pandey (Student Data Analyst) by May 25th. Students who have taken community college or outside courses must also request official transcripts to be sent from those institutions. Failure to request transcripts can result in the rescinding of admissions offers.

Questions or concerns? Contact your student's counselor.

SMUHSD News: Anonymous Alerts Launched May 1st

San Mateo Union High School District has enrolled with Anonymous Alerts®, the award-winning and patented anonymous reporting platform for schools nationwide.

Anonymous Alerts® launched Tuesday, May 1st!

Anonymous Alerts® empowers students with an easy-to-use mobile app to safely and anonymously report urgent concerns to school officials.

Topics may include cyber-bullying, threats, drug or alcohol use/dealing, violence, self-harm or other types of incidents.

In addition to app-based reporting, students can send in a report from any computer through a web link located on the district website and on school websites as well.  All reports sent through the mobile app or online reporting are 100% anonymous.

How do I place a report from Internet connected computers/tablets?

  1. Go to https://www.anonymousalerts.com/sanmateouhsd   from any Internet connected device.
  2. Follow the instruction on filling out your incident report.

How do I place a report from an iPhone or Android phone?

  1. From the iPhone Store, download the free app by searching for "Anonymous Alerts."
  2. If you have an Android phone, go to the Play Store, search for "Anonymous Alerts" and download.
  3. After downloading the app, click on it, enter setup/login sanmateouhsd and enter sanmateouhsd as your password.

If a student or peer is facing a personal difficulty or experiencing bullying, abuse, or are otherwise concerned about something, they can send in a report that gives schools the information needed to keep students safe.

We are very excited to launch this new program to students!
