Math Counts

MathCounts was established in 1983 by the National Society of Professional Engineers, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the CNA Foundation. It is a national enrichment, coaching, and competition program that promotes middle school mathematic achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory. If you have a natural aptitude for the subject, or are simply interested in a creative approach to problem-solving, then join us on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM beginning September 11th. Beyond weekly evening practices, intended Mathletes should anticipate optional take-home material, scrimmages against local schools throughout the year, and regional competition at NKU in February 2019. College scholarships are typically offered for top placements at the regional event with Jacob Finley proudly representing SJS last year with his first place finish in the individual round and in quick recall. Jacob was awarded a full academic scholarship to the University of Kentucky and NKU! The program has no associated cost beyond your commitment of time, energy, and enthusiasm! We very much look forward to meeting any interested 6 th through 8 th graders on September 11th.
