Give Us The Ole' Razzle Dazzle at the 2021 HPS Talent Show!
You may have been wondering, "Will there be a Talent Show this year?" Of course!! We’re Hyde Park School, and we always find a way. Here’s what it will look like:
Format: Virtual
Submission Deadline: May 7th
Show Premiere: May 12th
How to Participate: Students will submit a video of their act to Mr. Messerly's Google Drive. Click on this link when you are
ready to upload: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1J05426L4F3NfwhGM2gRXQZJEbdxM2TT2?usp=sharing
What Mr. Messerly needs in your video:
1. Your performer should announce their name and the title of the piece they are
performing before beginning.
2. Or if there is no title a brief description of what they’re doing.

All acts should be no longer than two minutes, but shorter is fine!
Depending on how many acts submit, Mr. Messerly will break the show up into smaller grade bands. For example, we typically have two shows: one with K-2 and the other with 3-6. The show will debut online May 12th, but will then remain up for several days. Mr. Messerly will then post it on the Happy Hyde Park YouTube channel. Anything your child is proud of they should feel free to share! They could hold up a picture they made, or a unique Lego structure they created. Music, dance, poetry, juggling, Taekwondo forms, etc. If you have questions send Mr. Messerly an email at messerm@cpsboe.k12.oh.us.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you shine!

HPS PTO Elections to Take Place at the Next PTO General Meeting on Thursday May 6 at 7:30 pm.
In order for the PTO to exist and to evolve, it requires new parents every year who want to engage and effect change. We seek a broad reach so that we can incorporate the opinions and desires of the entire Hyde Park School Community. There are absolutely no requirements to volunteer in a PTO position, and you will be mentored by the person currently serving in that role. Every parent on our current PTO board juggles work, kids, life, and was once a first-time volunteer. So you will not walk alone--this is your opportunity. We welcome all candidates to come forward and join the team!!

SLATE OF ELECTED POSITIONS- Voted on May 6, 2021, @ 7:30 pm during our last meeting of the year.

Here is the list of PTO Officers and general duties: If you have an interest in one of the below positions please send an e-mail to president@hydeparkschoolpto.org by May 2nd. All candidates will be announced prior to the meeting.

Vice President - Assist the President with the basic operations of the PTO. Learn the schedule of events and regulations required to lead as the President the following year. Following his/her initial term of office, the Vice President shall automatically, and without a vote, fill the office of President for the following year. Perform such other duties as are pertinent to the office. Position as described in PTO Regulations available upon request.

Vice Treasurer- Assist the Treasurer with the basic financial operations of the PTO. Train on our financial management platform (Quickbooks) and become familiar with the regulations and policies established by the Board. Following his/her initial term of office, the Vice-Treasurer shall automatically, and without a vote, fill the office of Treasurer for the following year. Position as described in PTO Regulations available upon request.

LSDMC Representatives (2) - The Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC) is the primary governing body for Hyde Park School. This committee gives insight and input into important decisions that greatly impact students’ lives and shape their educational experiences. The committee is comprised of community members, parents, support staff, teachers, and administration. Each of our representatives must be a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of a student at Hyde Park School, and CPS employees may not serve as parent representatives. You must commit to a two-year term ending in June 2023. Candidates should also be able to attend all, to the extent practicable, of the LSDMC meetings.
